En septembre 1957, une enveloppe anonyme contenant des fragments de magnésium d'une pureté inexplicable arrive à Rio de Janeiro. Le dossier Ubatuba est né — et depuis, les laboratoires n'ont jamais su nommer ce métal. Ce documentaire OVNI retrace l'enquête scientifique complète du dossier Ubatuba, l'une des affaires OVNI les plus troublantes du XXe siècle. Du Brésil aux États-Unis, du Laboratoire de la Production Minérale de Rio au NanoSIMS de Stanford, le magnésium d'Ubatuba a été analysé, contre-analysé, contredit — et jamais identifié. Magnésium pur à 99,8 % en 1957. Strontium ajouté délibérément. Signature isotopique anormale révélée en 2021 par le professeur Garry Nolan. Ce métal est terrestre dans ses atomes, mais impossible dans son origine. Aucun atelier ne le revendique. Aucune usine ne le signe.
