The Palace of Auburn Hills had long been a house of pain for Michael Jordan, but on February 7, 1991, the Chicago Bulls finally stood their ground against the Detroit Pistons. Chicago arrived having dropped twelve of thirteen previous games in the building, burdened by playoff scars against the two-time defending champions. Jordan and the Bulls finally broke the hex, grinding out a 95-93 victory to pull within a half-game of Detroit in the Central Division.
