1-11-1991. In 91, Mark Price tore a knee ligament at The Omni. I've seen the footage of it. He started hopping on one foot after speeding hard to get to a ball that was going out of bounds on the opposite side of the floor. In his absence, the Cavs were using Darnell Valentine, the PG for Portland in the early 80s. Cleveland struggled thereafter as Chick explained. However...the Cavs matched up favorably w/ the Lakers in terms of size and athleticism. As Chick stated, they beat the Lakers at Cleveland 84-74, a putrid Laker performance by their standards. Lakers struggled against CLE for a number of years. I got one up from 88 at CLE where the Lakers came back from 20 down only to lose at the buzzer on a tapin by Ty Corbin. I got LA's 89 win at CLE and it was a war just to win in that arena. == Larry Nance Sr. was passed over in the 1981 Draft by the Lakers, who selected Mike McGee one pick before Nance. An extremely costly misstep and I dunno how or why West wanted Geeter over a 6'11" athletic shotblocking, scoring PF/C. They could've instantly fixed their backup PF and/or future PF concerns. It was widely known that LA's front line were too short. AC and Rambo were demons and true pros, but Kevin McHale had no probs scoring over them. He tapped in a shot in LA's RS game at Boston at the buzzer. McHale was a pain in the ass.
