Conas taoi? How are ye? Welcome back to Candlelit Tales, the podcast where we tell Irish myths, accompanied by an original musical score. We’ve told many stories on this podcast, and we chat about these myths in separate episodes along the way. We recently wrapped up our Fianna Saga, and we're taking a well-earned break from storytelling to bring you a few longer, more relaxed chats with some brilliant people in our mythic community that we think our audiences will resonate with. In this episode, Aron sits down with Bobbo the Bard. Bobbo became a TikTok sensation over lockdown after visiting many sacred sights across Ireland, bringing his handpan, and tapping into his own bardic flow state through poetry and melody. We met one memorable evening a few years ago on the Hill of Tara, around the fire where we both told stories and realised we were inspired by one another. He’s been a fan of the podcast for a long time too, and after numerous messages back and forth, we have finally managed to make this chat possible. In this episode, we explore mythic landscapes, bardic traditions, IMBAS and the desire to connect to these older traditions in a new and liberating way. We hope you enjoy this chat as much as Aron did.
