The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked President Donald Trump's executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship, ruling 6-3 that the 14th Amendment continues to guarantee citizenship to most people born in the United States. Following the decision, U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, sharply criticised the ruling, arguing the court failed to properly interpret the Constitution's Citizenship Clause.
