Currently Playing: The Lownie Report: The Campaign to Discredit Epstein's Victims

Join Anne and Andrew on Substack Here! https://substack.com/@casewatchertiktok https://substack.com/@andrewlownie An incredible episode of The Lownie Report this week with Anne Cheever, who has done some brilliant work over the past few years investigating the network of people surrounding the Yorks and Ghislaine Maxwell who have used a multitude of techniques to try and discredit the brave victims who have come forward and spoken publicly about their abuse. Anne has called this network the ‘She-Wolves’ and I highly recommend her series on Substack which looks at how figures like Fergie, Victoria Hervey and George Bing Tonks have played a significant role in muddying the waters, for example with the ridiculous notion that the now infamous photo of the late Virginia Giuffre was fake or that the victims were not telling the truth. We discussed parallels with the Amber Heard trial, how bots are used en-masse across social media to spread misinformation - I have experienced the latter myself - and how Dropbox has been used as a repository for files that help make this campaign of hate possible and highly organised. We also discussed Maria Farmer, one of Epstein's earliest known victims and a woman of extraordinary courage, who has had to endure not only the trauma of her abuse but the very deliberate infiltration of her inner circle by bad actors secretly recording her private conversations in order to sabotage her legal case against the FBI. Anne also makes a compelling case that the ultimate goal of this whole network is to secure a presidential pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, who is already receiving what can only be described as extraordinarily preferential treatment in prison; private computer access, her mail handled personally by the warden, conditions that frankly sound less like a federal penitentiary and more like a rather inconvenient hotel. The message being sent could not be clearer and it is a deeply troubling one for anyone who cares about justice for the survivors. Both Anne and I have come up against disgusting behaviour and allegations since trying to shine a light on the Epstein saga and I salute her tenacity and bravery in carrying on the quest for truth despite such powerful opposition and abuse. I can’t recommend her Substack enough and I hope you will enjoy this insightful interview that is as riveting as it is horrifying. 00:00:00 Introduction 00:00:11 Anne Cheever on her Epstein research 00:01:31 How Epstein survivors have been silenced 00:02:37 Virginia Giuffre and the online campaign 00:06:22 Who are the “She Wolves”? 00:08:37 Lady Victoria Hervey and possible motivations 00:10:26 Protecting the Epstein “file class” 00:12:21 Democrats, Republicans and the Epstein cover-up 00:12:57 Victims, lawyers and control 00:15:06 The psychological toll on survivors 00:16:46 Virginia Giuffre’s final year 00:18:11 George B Tonks enters the story 00:21:35 Secret recordings, smears and social media 00:23:37 Why does the media platform these claims? 00:25:07 Social media, cease and desist letters and accountability 00:25:48 Lady Victoria Hervey’s links to Andrew and Sarah Ferguson 00:27:31 Independent journalists investigating the story 00:29:20 Did Hervey present herself as an Epstein victim? 00:29:53 Jessica Krauss, Amber Heard and online smear campaigns 00:32:39 Ghislaine Maxwell, Jay Beecher and the pardon campaign 00:34:02 Bots, influencers and manufactured narratives 00:35:08 Bots versus real people online 00:39:55 The personal cost of investigating Epstein 00:41:37 Antonia Marshall, Sarah Ferguson and the wider network 00:43:00 How the online smear ecosystem developed 00:45:12 The MAGA connection 00:48:10 Why isn’t the mainstream press doing more? 00:50:03 Is there now a fightback? 00:51:31 Melania Trump and renewed Epstein questions 00:52:53 Will more Epstein material be released? 00:54:25 Will more victims come forward? 00:55:54 Closing thoughts
