The entire zone is a series of homages, and the visuals didn't exactly have a central theme. We definitely knew we wanted to keep Mystic Cave 2P for Act 3, and I knew that I wanted to slow down the pacing of the music for Act 1 of this zone after the initial 3 zones generally featured upbeat music. After wrestling with writer's block for a while, I asked KgZ for help on this one, and his solution to the problem was not only perfect, it gave this middle act a personality of its own while managing to bridge Act 1 and Act 3 musically. The percussion in this track makes you expect coconuts to fly at you from the trees... but unfortunately all you get is some uppercuts and fireballs from mini-ryu badniks. -Falk Album art by http://neronz.deviantart.com/
