Episode 1, "One Year Later," picks up a year after the fall of the Chroma Conclave. Vex and Percy are living the noble life in Whitestone and Vex is bored out of her mind. Grog and Pike are at a tavern. Nobody is happy. Then a new adventurer crashes through the door: Tarian Darington, voiced by Wayne Brady — aspiring hero, buckler of swash, and owner of Doty, a clockwork biographer who dutifully records his every middling exploit. And somewhere in the night, a new creature is hunting — demigorgon meets xenomorph, blind, working on sound, and very much not good. Someone is building something out of blood sacrifice. Episode 2, "Trial by Water," belongs to Keyleth. Her aramente sends her into the water plane to retrieve the load stone — no killing, no weapons, no help, and a Leviathan waiting on the other side that knows exactly which wounds to press. She does it on her own. The Tempest has a new Voice. Episode 3, "The Coronation," is coronation day in Zephrah — and the Children of Truth arrive to ruin it. Blind sorcerers. Mass attack. Grog getting pieced up. Vex's father taken as a sacrifice. A Ravens champion appears, armor and all. The gang is scattered, weaponless, and suddenly very aware that this season's big bad hasn't even shown their face yet.
