Modest Mouse Covers

Currently Playing: Modest Mouse - "Here it Comes" (cover)

Always wanted to cover this song but could never really figure out exactly what was being played in the background behind the loud percussion. But I just decided to wing it and I think I got it mostly right. The picture in this video is a random drawing I did last week that I ran through an edge detection filter. For the intro, I loaded the original song into Audacity and reversed it to figure out exactly what was being played. I realized it was backwards banjo, so I got out my keyboard, turned it to the horrible sounding "BANJO" preset and played the riff backwards, then reversed it. I then turn the treble way down, turned the bass up a bit and added a phaser to dampen some of the harshness of the sound. Enjoy!
