There was huge structural damage along with mechanical and cosmetic damage & to make things harder the cars fitted with an aftermarket twin turbo kit which was custom built for the car. Im hoping today ive rebuilt it to the stage where i could finally drive it for the first time since the accident, but things didnt go to plan. 👇 Thanks to Nitron for the insane suspension setup 👇 https://www.nitron.co.uk/ 👇 Thanks to Funk Motorsport for the Turbo Blankets 👇 https://funkmotorsport.com/ 👇 FOR MORE CONTENT CHECK OUT MY SECOND CHANNEL 👇 https://www.youtube.com/@matarmstrongmk2 ⬇️ ALL MA MERCHANDISE ⬇️ https://matarmstrong.co.uk/ ⬇️ Follow Me Here Aswell ⬇️ https://facebook.com/matarmstrongbmx https://instagram.com/matarmstrongbmx

the last time I drove this car I crashed into a lamp post but today I'm hoping to drive this for the first time since my accident but if only it was as easy as that oh with already managed to fix a damage frame by buying a complete new chassis to use as a reference and also to cut sections off it to weld onto my garden and then after fixing various parts on the engine managed to reinstall it and start it for the first time but this car is still far from being able to drive none of this stuff is connected everything is just on so we can get the car moving we need to strip it all apart so we can paint the frame and then build it back up better than it was before so let's get [Music] going my first step would to be remove the whole suspension assembler starting off with the front right and on this gardo it's pretty easy to remove there one complete piece and then the shock absorb afterwards and I'm going to do exactly the same to the left hand side of the car then both sides are left completely bare now this part of the frame here is damaged and this actually holds a lot of the stuff like the radiators and the headlights but luckily for me this part of the frame actually bolts off from the chassis so that's my next job I'm going to unbolt it from this this side it uses about four bolts at the front a couple of bolts on the bottom part of the chassis and then the other two are just underneath the wind screen and then we can lift it off next step is this power steering coer at the front of the car there's no way this is going to work again so I've got to remove the line which goes to the power steering cooler and from the power steering cooler then we can lift it out and last thing is the steering rack I only put this in loosely just so we could move the car around and with all the weight removed off the front that's sketchy look that one's doing nothing you can see it was just hanging on the lift now and the last final pieces to come off are some of the wiring the battery and cool it hoses then the front end is completely clear so I can begin to paint it covering up all of the repairs that we've done on the front end and also giving that extra layer of protection and then we're just about ready to build it all back up Tony yes do you have any idea how this goes back together none much however okay here's the heater Bo this is actually the blower so in here is a big fan there you can see it to fit and that's going to push you know you know what that might no I don't think that should go on because look you've got hose Clips here when that's on you can't get to those those clips okay okay this is going to be a whole section of putting things on and then having to take them off again yeah right you said we're going to put these arm things on and then we can do the brakes okay yeah I bought some new arm things look at these turns out these frames which bolt on each side of the chassis that we just removed are really expensive you can see the full complete unit here from Lamborghini cost £ 3,449 just for one and we need two of them but I had a solution these have come from Poland these were £1,200 each what they're not genuine Lamborghini what someone made them in their shred yeah in Poland pises it's damaged no scammed why do you get scammed in every video now so it looks like we're going to have to bend a few parts back to the original shape but still I think 1200 each for these parts of the frame are pretty expensive but there's not much we can do in this situation there's a few parts of mar chassis which still need bending back to meet the frame which a little bit of heat and persuasion sorted then I can finally Bolt the right side of the frame to the Chassy and my dad has done the other side on to the next job this is the ABS pump where all of the brake lines commute to and then they go from here to Each corner and this is what has the solenoids in and when you feels like one wheel's skidding on one side it will stop the brake pressure to one side so it it doesn't lock up the brake so that's when you break and your pedal feels like it's going because it's these solenoid work in each corner it's quite clever actually is it it's a really clever thing yeah it's good you would want no ABS no cuz you could end up in a tree so now it's my dad job to fit the ABS pump this just holds on with two 10 mil bolts ABS pump fitted where's the pipe that go to [Music] it look at this now this is the the broken this is a brake Servo and what this does is when you push the pedal it pushes that in it pushes brake fluid from here into your ABS pump and pumps it around but then it also has vacuum on this doesn't it should go into that yeah how's that work there's actually a diaphragm inside of the brake booster and then a vacuum connection on the other side of it the vacuum either comes from an engine or a pump and when you've got the engine on it's pulling vacuum on the other side of the diaphragm so when you push the brake the brake pressure is assisted by the vacuum being pulled on the other side of the diaphragm that's why it feels a lot easier to push your brakes once the car is on now we know how it works we can start to install it It Bolts directly to the bulkhead after that I can fit the vacuum line which goes to the diaphragm and on this car it actually has a vacuum pump it doesn't draw the vacuum from the engine I assume just because it's all the way at the back of the [Music] car next up we've got the nose lift pump this pump is used to push fluid to the front of supension to lift the front of the car up when you get to a speed bump pretty handy yay and with that fitted and the hydraulic line going to it fitted as well I can now start to move on to some of the coolant lines it looks complicated but when you break it down it's fairly simple there's two radiators that are going to go on the front of the car and both radiators need a part which goes to them and a part which goes from them after that I'm fitting the heater blower this is used for your heater blowers inside the car this just bolts to the bulkhead with four screws once that's on I'm moving on to the washer bottle I think we all know what this does and we wouldn't be able to put washer fluid in it if we didn't have a filler neck and in no particular order the next thing to go on is the power steering cooler this just runs power steering fluid all the way through it and then the fins just I guess allow it to cap air to cool down the power steering fluid and this goes right at the front where it's probably going to get the most air another pretty simple parts of fit it helps having the whole front end off I guess there's two Pips going to it one feeding the fluid and one returning it and you can see them here which have come all the way from the back of the car the power steering pump to the cooler of the front now I'm fitting the horn which just bolts to the front and then I can fit the electrical cables to it and finally the Bonnet lock we just found a thing which we thought was so interesting we had to show you look at this I put this Cable in and thinking well this ain't right can't think of it but just going to have to deal with it dad looked at it he goes oh yeah look found some it the cable can go in at the bottom down there or at the top on this side so the cable just runs down here why would it do that well Lamborghini actually thought about left hand drive and right hand drive on like McLaren where they made everything different for left left hand and right hand drive is they on a left hand drive car the Bonnet pull will be on that side so the cable will go down here and Connect into that one and on the right hand it should go to that one but also check this out all the holes yeah on this side of the car are the same on that side of the car but they're boed up on this side of the car and not bed up on that side so you could essentially just switch this to left hand drive without drilling or cutting any holes or doing anything different apart from changing the steering rack and dashboard and and stuff for everyone that wanted to convert their left hand drive go to right hand drive the next thing to put on is the RADS but before the RADS we've got airon pipes because my airon pipes these are my old ones and I did a delete on them at the end so I deleted them so we've got some secondhand ones these connect right underneath the car let's do it but this didn't quite go to plan the aircon lines slide from the front of the car and go underneath to this tunnel here but then we found a difference in the aircon lines the ones that I bought were off a 2009 car and mine's a 2012 but the cars look exactly the same it it they are the exact same part number like you can see 400 260 704 and then look at this one this one's got a C 400 260 704 and then it's just got a random C at the end just for B like I don't think that's for Bano I think that means something well look the fend different oh my God it is different so the C isn't for banter the c means slightly different to the they make it different is that one okay though is this one okay look it's not it's not damaged on the end ask it if it's all right are you okay they were both actually okay aren't they yeah we've not been scammed but we just got scammed because no what why why have you replacing them those are the new ones oh my I'm done I'm done you can see here number three on the diagram and number four are £179 and £86 and the part numbers end in 704 and 712 but if we look at a 2012 Lamborghini gardo part number three and four which again look exactly the same one's priced at £450 and one's priced at over ,000 and the only difference is in the part numbers one of them says b at the end and one of them says C at the end it actually turns out on the newer car they changed the length of the aircom pipes for just no reason so we have ordered a 2009 airon pipe further back to connect onto a 2009 aircon pipe further forward and hope that works if it doesn't work I don't know what we're going to do and whil I wait for it to arrive it's time I fit the radiators to the front of the car again secondhand radiators on the right hand side it's the radiator for all the engine Cooling and then the airon condenser in front of it which mounts to our new frame panels and then we can fit the hoses which go to them one on the top and one on the [Music] bottom and then we can do the same on the other side but on the left hand side it is only a radiator for the engine coolant exciting times two radiators are now on and the airon condenser in front of this radiator for the airon we're hoping the new lines will arrive so we can fit all that up and connect it all up but there is one more radiator to fit which is a non OEM radiator this is an aftermarket one made by push performance which got smashed in the accident we've had it record for £400 which seems very expensive but all of these brackets have got to be redrilled and fit to the front there because this is the radiator which cools the charge coolers and for all the turbos so we got to fit this now which requires a little bit of modification so do so let's do it first thing we got to remove is this plastic shrouding which is bolted to the radiator there's a couple of bolts at the bottom and a couple of bolts at the top after that we can then have access to slide on our new aftermarket rad then I can Mark out the holes for the mounting points on the top side and on the bottom side and drill them [Music] out I've given them a little bit of paint each side just so it isn't exposed metal anymore then I'm simply just sliding it back onto the front of the old radiator and putting a couple of bolts for it as easy as that after that I could put the hoses onto them remembering from the last episode that the hot hose goes to the top part of the radiator and the cold hose goes to the bottom side of the radiator we did try and modify the plastic shroud to fit around both of the RADS but it seemed it just wouldn't work so we took them off both sides and give it a little paint FR an end on all radiators we're still waiting for those airon lines but now we can start with the suspension starting with the anti- roll bar which I'm now confused which way it goes through does it matter probably not what do you think that matters through there yeah and that goes in like that now we start the suspension and steering the anti roll bar bar is mounted to the chassis with some rubber bushing in between it and Freddy's helping me fit the other side of it we're progressing so much now that we might actually finally see the goo back on the road soon something which seemed far from possible a few months ago next up the steering rack this slides in underneath the anti roll bar and again bolts to the chassis with a bit of rubber bushing in between [Music] it there's two hydraulic lines which go to the steering rack to help you turn which is what I'm fitting now which is quite difficult to see and now we can move on to the front suspension put on the first suspension component with which is the lower Wishbone it's called a wishbone cuz it looks like a wishbone with an anti-roll bar drop link on so this connects to the bottom the front suspension is just the original suspension that was on the car as none of it was actually damaged in the accident we've just cleaned it up a bit and then Bolten it back on that is in lower arm boom this has got the wheel bearing in which spins and it's got this bit of aluminum cuz yeah yeah yeah and that is going to go on like that then we can slide the knot in place and make it nice and tight Freddy went round and talked all the bolts up after I was done next up the top Wishbone which fits exactly like the bottom Wishbone bolts to the chassis and then goes into the wheel hook next up electrical equipment are you okay in there this is the ABS sensor or the wheel speed sensor and this slides into the wheel hub and then bolts in place and senses the speed of the wheel you can see it at the back here just sitting on the wheel bearing ABS sensor wheel speed sensor on now I need to put this on but I have been slightly over enthusiastic over enthusiastic apparently because now that does not go behind that what's it called it's called a heat shield so does it shield from heat it does so annoyingly I've got to remove the wheel bearing to fit the heat shield now wheel bearing out heat Shield's going in there we go and whil US fit in the heat shield we somehow got onto the subject of what superpower would you have if you could have any so if if I could have anything I would live forever you would have magic anything up into my into my hand or around me at any point so when if you need a 10 mil it's just there 10 mil's there oh I need some money there oh I need like whatever is there you know like just think of it there oh 10 mil boom in me hand do you know what else what's what would be the point where I wouldn't you just say I want a work in car Boop oh yeah you could do that could do that but yeah there's no it's only hand sized objects but like has to be this big S magic powers I can only have things that will fit in my hand magic to me there is one thing that I can think of which I'd want magic to me right now and that is a w food wow I've got a great super power and while I was showing Freddy how good why food is my dad started fitting the rear right suspension well it says it says this is food is that true instead of having like fast food at lunchtime or at dinner time or at breakfast you can grab one of these and actually replaces that meal you know why it's good why because it's got 26 vitamins and minerals in it it's high in fiber it's high in protein it's lactose free it's gluten free and guess what what there's no added sugar that is insane and to top that if you don't like creamy cookie flavor there is loads more flavors to choose from happy banana yep let's do it it's not bad that's really it's really good well we haven't found out what Tony's superpow would be yet oh yeah what was your superpow I think it might be to change my appearance a that's quite sad so you can be in anybody you like Oh I thought you could grow air and stuff like that why food really is the perfect meal replacement drink perfect for people like myself who are constantly on the go so if you want to grab a y food you can do with the link in the description box below and using the code which is appearing on the screen right now you're going to save yourself a nice bit money with a discount code go grab a y food let that be your meal replacement drink this week here we go wheel bearing now back in and the connection was made this was the end of the drive shaft when it was four-wheel drive so to hold this wheel bearing in and to stop it from being all like wobbly you need to have something in there with the bolt clamping it down so this is the end of the drive shaft so make sure nothing falls out this goes in the back back there we go like that bolt goes in the front just like that [Music] sus Jesus then it's time for the brake disc we all know what one of these two after that the brake caliper and the brake caliper wouldn't work without the hydraulic line which connects to it which is what I'm doing now right turn the wheel from left to right we need to attach it to the steering rack and this is how we do it then I could Taren the nut onto the steering M and we're almost complete with the suspension and there is one final piece of the puzzle which I'm really excited to have on I never thought I'd actually have this suspension on my car because it is expensive this is all what goes on race cars this thing like actual race cars you can choose your own like you can choose your own spring rates uh rebound rate everything like you can literally set up your own suspension it goes on race cars I feel like I'm not even worthy of this suspension and even better than that see what this bit is as well we get to keep the OEM nose lift so I won't lose any Splitters so the hydraulic gets pushed into there and it raises the front up thanks nitron everyone should go get nitron suspension now I'm actually really excited to see what the car drives like with this suspension setup and it's sort of getting the setup it deserves after all it's 1,000 horsepower Lamborghini we're going to be changing not only the suspension setup but also the wheels and the tires but we're still waiting for those Wheels to be made now I'm just attaching the hydraulic line for the nose lift so then when I press the button inside the car the suspension will rise so I can get over those speed bumps and look at that for a setup just a few final things to bolt up and then we can move on to the rear which is pretty similar to the front with a double Wishbone system I've got to remember to put the drive shaft in though which is connected to the gearbox and then of course to the wheel hub and then the rest of the suspension arms can connect to the chasset then not forgetting to put the bolts in for the drive shaft into the rear diff and tightening up the knot which holds the drive shaft to the wheel hub onto the next set the brakes we got some re new rear brake lits from Kinetics shout out to them and pads as well because the rear brake disc was bent we're hoping it was a rear disc brake disc which was bent because I'd hold on the brake so hard and then it had moved so let's fit this bad boy have to remember this time to fit the heat shield first now this gardo has only done 177,000 Mi so the front brake discs are completely fine I'm only replacing the rear because I bent them once the brake disc is in place I can install the hand brake caliper which is a separate caliper and then I can install the actual brake caliper now I'm also going to be changing the brake pads but they're a lot easier to change once the caliper is mounted to the wheel hub I've got to knock out both pins which hold the brake pads in place then pull them out from the side and once both of the pins are removed I should just be able to lift out the brake pads ready for them to be changed copper slip on the back look look look look people are going to say you can't do that guess what I can because look it says prevents disc breake squeal goes on the back stops vibrations but but the heat but the copper in there is just hot and it makes a chemical reaction why you with SP with the brake pads with the lick of copper grease I can now slide them back into the caliper and then put back in the pins which I originally took out with help from a little Hammer after that it's time for the nitron suspension which again is easily fitted to the rear of the car and that is almost it for the rear last thing to connect is the handbrake cable which my dad showed me a special trick on how to do it with the screwdriver good news the suspension is on all four corners and we have got the remaining part of the airon line off a older car this is so we've got the aircon lines further forward now this is the bit that goes in the middle whether this is going to work or not I don't know we're going to find out send it up if this don't work we're in trouble here is the two airon lines that one is supposed to go to that one right right but so we figured on that for some reason they decided to change the lenss because they're weirdos I'm guessing this ain't an Audi part yeah look Lamborghini I knew there'd be weirdos this is a Lamborghini thing to do isn't it whereas Audi would have just kept it the same on Polo's Vault whatever so we're hoping now this is going to be the right length I've just got in and it a it's either that or the older gados are shorter yeah Evolution people get taller over time in it but so you reckon they stretched in a factory what we what's going on Tony well I don't really know I'm just got my hand up here I'm doing something what you doing up there the pipe if you could stop punching the camera that would be great there we go have you got that pipe get more of the natur no Matthew no what time is it Anyway the time you get this to pipe off that's what it is another 24 Alexa Alexa what's the time 11 you midnight no that's a surprise vampires are out here we go it's out so according to our calculations this one should be shorter this one is it by a little bit yeah oh it's very different it's sh which way did it go back what it doesn't make any no what have you done what have you just done you just turned it the wrong way around and it's confusing it needs to go back the other way no that's right there is it oh yeah why would they do that Lamborghini are weird the overall length of all these parts put together is exactly the same but they've just made each one different length to be awkward and Italian and weird well let's see if it fits which one was it and after sliding it in place it seemed we had good news It lines up there lines up there why they did that maybe someone at Lamborghini will be able to explain so the conclusion is the 2009 guyardo ac lines are completely different to the 2012 one even though the car is exactly the same all that's left to do now is button up the under tray which covers up all of those pipes and would potentially cover up a prop shaft making it four-wheel drive but we're keeping this car rear wheel once that's done I can move back onto the front of the car and bolt on the new crash bar add some brake fluid in the brake reservoir head to the back of the car and add some power steering fluid into the power steering fluid reservoir then I've got to connect the steering rack up to the steering column with this little piece here which means getting in the car and crawling underneath the steering wheel I've got to slot this piece onto the steering rack and once it's on the steering rack I can pull it up and slide it onto the steering column both of these are connected with a little pinch bolt one at the top here and one underneath I then got to connect up the brake pedal to the brake master cylinder which slides into place with a little pin and a c clip and that is all working we need to get all of the air out of the brake system so I've put the fluid in and we have upgraded Mr push Mr push has got an upgrade this goes on the top like that Mr push goes on top like that and then we do what Mr push does best and push air now this is going to push pressure all the way through the braking system and we should be able to go to Each corner of the brakes pop off the bleed nipple and get all the air out and we should be able to do that ourselves without having anyone in the car it should be as easy as that I'm cracking off the brake nipple on the back left caliper Wai for all the air to come out then Taren it back up then do the other bleed nipple on the other side wait for the air to come out of that and then tighten that back up and do the same on the rear right the front left and the front right until all of the air is out of the brake system which should give us a nice hard pedal got a solid one yeah yeah yeah I think we're good it's not going down no we don't I've I've hold it onto the next job vacuum fill in because the coolant is completely empty and the radiators are at the front and the coolant tanks at the back we have a risk of having air also in the cooling system which could cause an air lock and cause it to overheat and that's why we have to do this we've done it plenty of times before just screw this in place okay I think that's good enough now Airline the airline is used to pull a vacuum in the cooling system sucking out every every bit of air that's in there you can see the hos is lo and once we're happy that it's holding the vacuum we can add the Valene coolant as soon as we connect this hose up to the vacuum system it will suck all of the coolant into the cooling system we're keeping the coolant bottle topped up to make sure it doesn't suck any air back into the cooling system and once we're happy with that we can disconnect it and top up the rest by hand there's also another cooling system on the car for the aftermarket turbos we shouldn't have to vacuum fill this so we can pour that straight into the reservoir and now we're almost ready to get going that was until we had our first problem Oh no is that the dead long one yeah oh oh no that is the longest hose in the world as well we're going to yeah we're going have a piece a cup a piece so this is the hose for the the all the turbo cooling but if we cut it there and there and then put a bit of metal in the middle and join it we should be okay but we need a bit of like copper pipe or something that diameter so it seems from the accident we may have pinched a small hose in the cooling system but I think my dad has found a solution using one of the parts of the broken Rolls-Royce is this the solution well only if we know which way the the the coolant flowing why is that cuz this is a [Music] vow was that dribble or coant that come out the end of that then it could have been dribble right we've got a plan this valve can fix that hose because we can put each hose CL on each side but this valve only allows water to go through that way so we need to work out which way this water is Flowing we think it's going up the hose that way way but just to be sure I'm going to connect the battery turn the ignition on and see which way the water's flowing and in that way you can make sure the valve is being put in the right position so in goes the battery and we can connect that up and when I turn the ignition on the separate water pump for the turbos should start pushing the coolant round and we can work out which way the coolant is Flowing there yeah yeah oh yeah come out the bottom yeah as expected the coolant coming out from the bottom of the radiator now we know which way it's flowing we could put the valve in the correct way and use this to repair our little Brak in the hose and now that that's repaired we can get on to the last few bits seeing as we're going outside we don't want these turbos to suck up any deis K&N air filters off eBay who look at them check these out Funk Motorsport Heat Blankets on the turbos we want like all the hot side of the turbo to just stay hot and not go over to the cold side and these are that good that you know when the car's running you can actually lean on the turbo like that and not get hot what doesn't go through the B of doesn't go through it at like you can literally lean on the turbo thanks again Funk motorsport for providing the replacement of the Heat Blankets if you guys need anything from Funk Motorsport there's a link in the description for them but now the G is within touching distance of being able to drive I was desperate to bolt on and try out the secondhand headlights I managed to pick up off eBay which were £4,000 each yeah look at that was evil and they worked and this is it I know it's far from done but it's come a long way and I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of this gardo once again okay everything's tight everything's ready to go doesn't feel long since I actually drove this oh everything seemed okay till you look in the top right hand corner of the smoke what's going on something wasn't right the smoke was a big indication of it it's relak I think there's going to be a lot of coolant on the floor or in the engine don't say that oh yeah is a lot yeah all the coets on the floor oh oh no oh no there must be a hose clamp not on or something or it's popped off or oh it's still leaking out how has that happened it held vacuum though it must be a hose clamp we were so close yeah so now it's back up in the air to investigate what exactly has gone wrong [Music] oh oh it's got stuck on the Belt that that's not pulled it from the it's pulled it off that hose is sat on the belt and the belt's worn through the hose so we need to get a new hose looks like it oh so so it seems the hose was rooted the wrong way and actually resting on the auxiliary belt and after a while of running the car it burnt straight through the hose luckily we managed to pick up a second hand hose and replace it with it and hopefully get the car back on the road for good this time mad's just sliding it back up into place and we should be good to go after many minutes minutes yeah many minutes hours finally got it on yes oh and it's now Ed the right way this hose is now in the right position look it's there and it's not on the belt on the Belt very bad just got to top up the coolant again and this time hopefully we can drive it oh right this is it come on goo [Applause] come on selecting a gear and we're [Music] moving everything seemed to be going great this feels so weird we're out the K was driving for the first time since the accident but it wasn't for long that looks so sick this is it what [Music] oh what's up man don't if it's just cuz we not got any everything on no some's not connected some not connect some's not connected is it oh oh [Music] no well we drove we drove we did drrive we did drive it it got here so it's is an achievement thanks so much for watching this video If you enjoyed it hit the Subscribe button hit that thumbs up Buton and I'll see you in the next video where we might actually drive it peace [Music] out on go go go go [Music] giving me the best time
