Currently Playing: I WENT TO MILAN TO TRY BREAK A 10 YEAR RIB EATING RECORD! | BeardMeatsFood

In this week's instalment we're back in Milano at what was apparently the first American BBQ in the city...Ribs & Beer... For the best part of twelve years, they've served up a rib eating challenge that only eight people have ever managed to defeat...the record time has been held by a Japanese fella by the name of Kiyoaki Omori for almost a decade now, so I decided to stop by and try give the decor a much needed update... £80 to order. 24 minutes to complete. If you can get it all down (minus the lettuce) including the beer, not only is it all FREE but you get a spot on their giant wall of fame, a very sensible polo-shirt and a pat on the back... [music] >> All right. We're back in Milano today. I think at this point after today's video, we must have done pretty much [music] every food challenge in the country of Italy. And surprisingly, they've all been in their own way a little trickier than expected. This is the restaurant we're eating at today. It's called Ribs and Beer. Not a traditional Italian-sounding restaurant, of course, but uh apparently the first barbecue in Milan. Not sure about that claim. What do you reckon? Got the menu outside. Let's have a look. Have a quick watches. Wonder if it mentions the challenge on there. What do you reckon rock chicken is? Never heard of that before. Ooh, bacon cheese ball. All the pizzas are named after uh presidents. That'll get people talking in the comments. Leave it, man. Just step away from the keypad. Just leave it. Just leave it for once. Just leave it. Surely this should make the Trump one just really orange. >> [music] [music] >> It's a bit warm in here. Almost as warm as it is quiet. Just want to see what kind of books [music] they got. They definitely don't use the Dewey Decimal System of numbering here. It's uh almost impossible to find specific books. Was looking for my favorite 1984. I don't know half of these, man. They'll probably be in Italian anyway, right? They got some John Grisham there. You don't have to look too far for the wall of fame here, do you? Look at that. Can I just ask you about the the wall of fame? >> 12 years. >> Yeah? >> They did the challenge. >> [music] >> These are the loser. >> Ah, right. Okay. >> And the record man is Kyo Aki Omori. >> He sounds like he's Japanese. >> I thought he sort of sounds like a really intimidating Japanese sumo wrestler or something like that. Was he big? He was big or small? >> No, no, small. >> Is he smaller than me? >> Then he's smaller. >> Smaller than me? >> Smaller than me than you. >> That's a bad sign, you know. That was a sexy ringtone, by the way. Very sexy. >> He is my brother. >> That the ringtone was sexy. That's That's what I was getting at. Sort of lost in translation there. >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah, man. This guy is a beast. Look at that. He knows what he's doing. He knows his way around the bone. >> 10 years ago in the same place. >> This was 10 years ago? >> 10 years ago in the same place. >> I think it's about time it's been, isn't it? Come on. Let's turn on the afterburners. 24 ribs are in the beans, coleslaw, patatine frite, and 1 L di birra, which means 1 L of beer. You got to do it in 24 minuti. 24 minutes. If not, it's 80 euros. That's pricey, isn't it? I think we might be down a cameraman today. Josh 2 has looked at some light, which I think was a tad too bright. And uh he's now taking some time in the darkness. People will be happy about that. Who do you think is preferred more, you or Josh 1, you or Josh 2? I might be able to start a You do polls on YouTube? Josh 1 or Josh 2? >> [laughter] >> There's only one way to find out. Fight! >> [music] >> It's on the way. >> Good luck. >> Thank [laughter] you. Grazie. Grazie. Can I Can I pour this into into here? >> Oh, yes. >> Yeah? Sort of half got that right. I'm not sure I could work in a bar. Pulling pints like that. Or half pints, as the case may be. For the record, I'm going to put this on the floor for now. It's not disappearing. I'm just going to put it down here. All right. Today we're at a place called Ribs and Beer in Milano, and I'm doing battle with what they call simply their Man vs. Food Challenge. It's essentially two big racks of ribs, some coleslaw, some chips, and some beans. Eight winners, and lot lots of losers up there. It's been going 12 years? 12 years you've been doing this? >> Yes. >> Yeah. And it How much does it cost? >> 80 euros. >> Okay, 80 euros. All right. Do I have to finish the the lettuce? >> It's not included. >> Okay, right. Do you have any sauce? Do you have barbecue sauce? >> Barbecue or mayonnaise and ketchup. >> Uh just a just a barbecue is good. Thank you. Sorry, I'm going to go through the whole >> Good luck, huh? >> Oh, thank you. Thank you very much. These are these [music] poor people. At least they're behind me. They don't even see anything. Can they bite me? Just bits of ribs flying everywhere. What the hell? That's a clean bone. Oh. You have lost a tooth there. All right, that's 5 minutes down, mate. 5 minutes. He's making good time [music] to be fair, but there's still quite a lot left. But that's a lot of coleslaw and beans. Does it taste all right? >> [music] >> 5 minutes Adam. I'm sorry. I feel like I spent this whole trip apologizing. I eat like a pig. Oh, that was a little big piece. 6 minutes down. The beer. Come on Adam, pick up up, man. You're going to beat this. The quad. I'm going to call the order of hands. You've got 6 minutes left to beat the record. >> The worst are the beans, huh? The worst are the beans. >> The worst are the beans? >> Yeah. >> I love that one. >> Go, go, go. No time. Go, go, go. >> 10 minutes down, Adam. 10 minutes down. Go, mate. There's quite a lot of beans left. And he's also got a pint to have, so >> Give me a break, man. Give me a break. >> You've got about 2 minutes left. >> Let's get that pint down, yeah? And let's smash these beans. >> I'll leave no doubt. Is he going to do it? >> Yeah. Unbelievable. Number one. Number one. Right. Go, go, go, go, go, go. >> Halfway there, Adam. Halfway. 12 minutes down. All the beer. All right. This is Bebis food. And that was ribs and beers. Bebis food challenge in record time, I think. >> YEAH. >> [music] [applause] >> NEW RECORD MAN. UNBELIEVABLE. Another one. Another one. Start again. >> [laughter] >> Do you want Do you want this one, do you? Don't you? >> Do you want me to chew? >> Yeah. >> Or cheesecake? >> Which is best? >> Cheesecake >> Cheesecake >> Cheesecake? I'll go with the cheesecake. [laughter] >> Fantastic. >> Look at that. Have you ever seen a cleaner table after one of my videos? Hey, you said I wasn't going to do it. >> Well, when I saw all that pie left, I thought maybe I hadn't got a chance, but well done, mate. You've You've impressed me there. >> When that came out, I didn't think I was going to get done in 15 minutes 40. I thought 24 minutes would be a bit of a push. You know what the good thing was though? The I think I started sort of half accidentally where the ribs were the stiffest. They they were like a little a smidge overdone right at the left end of the first one, but then they they seemed to get really really tender as it went on. The ribs were really good. >> Official time 13 minutes and 1 second. >> Oof, that's not bad, I mean. Whoever this guy is, man. He's some boy. Ah, grazie. I don't know what it means, but it looks good. >> No, he's not. He's really Not like you. >> [laughter] >> There's life in the old dog yet, mate. I'm so impressed myself there. And with the steak one that we did, it like a knife off of it. This would have been way too hard. Hey, this guy took the easy way out. He got a liter of Coke and he had no lettuce. Clearly not concerned about his colon health long term. Oh. There we go. >> Do you like it? >> Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was great cheesecake. Hot lines, mate. That's been there since 2019. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. >> YOU NEW RECORD, MAN. >> [applause] >> OH MY GOODNESS, IS THAT IS THAT A HOT PINK COLOR? These wingers This is my favorite color. This is my favorite color. >> Yeah. How nice. And this is for you. >> Oh, thank you. >> record, man. >> Oh, thank you so much. I really appreciate that. >> I thank you. Thank you very much. >> I'm wearing that for the next next episode of FOTM. This is my favorite color. I used to have football boots with exactly this color. Pretty happy with that. That's That's my favorite sort of uh piece of apparel that I've that I've worn lately. It's It's got to be up there. That could be top 10 of all time, actually. I like it. Thank you. Thank you. It's nice to meet you all. >> [music] [music] >> I like that. He's dressed like an English schoolboy, but he's got an old man's face. It's like you.
