“Telethon” Rules (made by HikikomoriInternational, @pacsonic9000 & some other peeps.) 1. Main Sketch Animation Rules: When creating a main segment, the segment must be two or three minutes long and must have a certain plotline combining two specific sources of pop cultural media. It must also have a creative title (ex: "Strife", which is a parody of the 2017 film "Life", or "KonoSubstance", which is a mashup of the light novel series "KonoSuba" and the 2024 film "The Substance") or a plot twist that changes the plot (similar to the ones in "I Am Lorax" and "The Straight A-Team") However, you must not make a main segment centering around something with a major controversy (ex: you must not create a parody of the web series CartoonMania, because its creator had been doing some bad things on the series's Discord server) If you make a segment based on that type of source, it will be denied and would never be accepted to said project. 2. Short Sketch Animation: When creating an animated short, it may be short or long depending on its runtime. However, the short must have a creative plotline or a pun (ex: a man tells his wife, who is a farmer, that he got laid off from his job as an office employee and tells her he's going to "hit the hay" (an slang term referring to going to bed) to cope with his problem, and kicks a haybale out of frustration.) 3. Ad Parody Sketch: When creating a commercial segment, the segment must be based on a certain product (ex: Proactiv, Bran Flakes, etc.), brand or company (ex: Xiaomi, McDonald's, AT&T, etc.), event (ex: Miku Expo, WWE, NBA, etc.), promo (ex: a promo for a TV show parodying a certain source of pop cultural media, or a movie trailer spoofing a certain film), and others. However, the commercial must have a distinct animation style and a perfect script that improves the commercial. You can also add slogans, which must be required to be creative. 4. Events & Religion (DO NOT DO THAT) We should also not spoof certain events for a segment, therefore it would receive backlash from a certain group of people. An example of this instance is that of the South Park episode "Got a Nut", which was withdrew due to its depiction of Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated 1 month after the episode aired, and that fans of his and other MAGA supporters accused it of being a contributing factor that fueled the hatred and violence that led to his death. This is serious, and we should not spoof anything that is considered serious and controversial for the series. We should also not spoof any religious figures for the series, because it could lead to extreme backlash from various people of religion, and potentially extreme violence and controversies due to said segment. 5. Extra Note: Adult Animated TV Shows. Spoofing adult animated television series is okay, but the spoof must be family friendly towards it's audience. Family Guy is a major instance in the original series due to its depictions of Chris and Peter Griffin, as well as the Simpsons due to its depictions of some members of the Simpson family and Ned Flanders Make sure you follow these & get creative to make your own submission!
