I know I’m gonna get labeled “sensitive” or “easily offended” by this, though I’ve likely already earned that title a long time ago at this point. I’m happy to say I’ve seen “fatphobia” and/or “fat shaming” considerably less in the last number of years, but it’s always nice to have a reminder that the world considers me and a large percentage of others lazy because of the shape of my body. I put those in quotes because I still have enough internalized self-hatred (thanks to shit like this) to be uncomfortable with the ideas behind those words, and the concept of standing up for myself on the matter. Genetics, medicine, free time, all kinds of things go into making us look the way we look. It’s tired and downright stupid that we’re still equating body shape with personality and character. I’m more than aware that it’s more than likely this dude is just using sensational titles for click/ragebait, and for all I know he’s a super nice dude, but this kind of thinking is rude and short sighted.
