For a long time I have been against the idea of tilling but my recent pest pressure from root knot nematodes has me adjusting my tactics. Some of this came after reading Elliot Coleman's new book "The Self-Fed Farm and Garden" which discusses tilling and cover crops use on the farm to build deep resilient soil through shallow tilling in of cover crops.
