AH-1F has the AN/ALQ-144 IR jammer, which provides constant protection against heat seeking missiles. it generates randomly shifting heats around the disco ball to make missiles harder to lock on the helicopter, making it less accurate. However, most AA missiles now have proximity fuse and will detonate in the air if it missed slightly, making this jamming much less effective. The only missile this jammer can reliably spoof is 9K32 steala-2 MANPADS, which lacks proximity fuse. Other missiles have pretty high chance of detonating in the air and damaging the helicopter after being jammed.
