For 160 years, the main problem at Cerro Gordo has been running water. Even when this town had thousands of residents that were pulling out hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ore...there was never reliable running water. There have been major attempts for the past century, including tapping different springs and wells and even running 11.5 miles of piping back to the town. All of them failed within a few years. But for my dream of Cerro Gordo surviving for future generations to come true, we need reliable water. And after 6 years of living up here, I know the best solution to that is to drill a well. So in this video, we attempt to drill a well up at the abandoned mining town of Cerro Gordo. To hopefully solve the biggest problem in this town's history. But, like all things up here, it did not exactly go according to plan. - If you're interested in further supporting the town and it's restoration, I set up a Patreon. There is a lot of cool behind-the-scenes material there, as well as an option to forever put your name on the restoration efforts: https://www.patreon.com/cw/ghosttownliving For more behind the scenes photos, check out my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brentwunderwood/ Cerro Gordo T-Shirts and more: https://store.cerrogordomines.com/ Mailing Address: PO Box 490, Lone Pine, CA 93545 - THANK YOU!
