Just when we thought all the advancements in AI for the year had already been seen, we get this thrown at us! We've seen text to text, text to image, text to video, text to music and so much more! But this is... something different! Basically a "Universe in a transformer" where a world model trained on watching lots of Minecraft videos is able to replicate the game live in 20 frames per second. Since there is no code or permanent game world though, looking at the sky then looking straight ahead again results in the entire world completely changing around you. What you don't see, no longer exists and what you look at, only just came into existence because you looked at it... This may not seem impressive RIGHT NOW, but wait till these kinds of models are trained on real life rather than Minecraft and can be played in crystal clear 4K...
