In our first time watching Gravity Falls Season 2 Episode 15, “The Last Mabelcorn,” we were not prepared for how personal this one gets. What starts as a sparkly side quest for a unicorn hair to help Ford protect the Mystery Shack from Bill Cipher quickly turns into one of the sharpest character check-ins the show has given us so far. Mabel is chosen because she’s supposedly “pure of heart,” but instead of a magical affirmation, she runs into a group of glitter-covered unicorns who absolutely dismantle that idea in the pettiest, most judgmental way possible. It’s hilarious, chaotic, and surprisingly honest. On this first watch reaction, we talk through our immediate responses to the unicorn twist, Mabel’s unexpected growth moment, Ford’s escalating paranoia about Bill Cipher, and how this episode feels like it’s quietly setting the board for the endgame of Season 2.
