This is the exercise problems solution of the 9th edition of "Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists by Walpole". In this video, I solve exercise problem 4.68 to find the expected value and variance of the scaled and transformed random variable in electric circuits by using the probability density function for discrete probability functions. 4.68 The power P in watts which is dissipated in an electric circuit with resistance R is known to be given by P = I2R, where I is current in amperes and R is a constant fixed at 50 ohms. However, I is a random variable with μI = 15 amperes and σ2 I = 0.03 amperes2. Give numerical approximations to the mean and variance of the power P. Thank you for visiting the channel. This channel is all about the latest trends and concepts related to the problems a student encounter while studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. We are specialized in covering the material related to Electrical and Electronics Circuit Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Probability and Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, to name a few. #basicprobability #probabilityandstatistics #randomvariables #variance #standarddeviation #walpole #probabilitydistributions #problemsolutions #covariance #jointprobability #covarianceofrandomvariable #distribution #meanvaluecalculation #mathematicalexpectation #expectedvalue #excpectedprofit #integrationbyparts #definiteintegrals #electricalcircuit Connect with me by subscribing to: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVWaC4BsaESbmijsPMe7QaA/featured Happy Learning :-)
