We are so proud of our middle guy, Manilla Lately, he has been all in on breakdancing. He has been training hard here on the island, learning new moves, and really falling in love with both the art and the culture. The breakdancing scene here is small, but the community is so supportive and fun to be part of. It has been awesome to see how it brings people together and creates space for kids to express themselves. So Manilla had an idea and joined a local breakdancing competition for kids. There were eight competitors and the format was a round robin. The first dancer to win seven battles would win the entire competition. Manilla started off by losing his very first round, but after that he won every single one. He ended up tied with another awesome dancer, a girl who had also won six battles. They faced off in the final round and Manilla came out on top It was so special to watch him compete. Between rounds, he would cross his fingers and you could see the focus and determination on his face. When he won the final round, he was absolutely thrilled, and we were just as excited for him This was such a great reminder of how important it is to support the things our kids are passionate about.
