“I’m not good enough to call BACKLASH?!” The May 1st, 2006 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW brings us the fallout from the PPV that took place the night before, Backlash! Of course, to capitalize on the momentum of this PPV, Vince McMahon opens the show & lets everyone know that he doesn’t really feel like working tonight, and he is going to let all of the members of the Spirit Squad run the show. Yes, all of them. Kenny. Johnny. Mitch. Nicky. Mikey. All of them. Of course, that comes with a lot of “interesting” matches, including John Cena defending his WWE Championship against the 20 year old Kenny. Three of the members of the Spirit Squad also very fairly put themselves in a 6-man tag against “The Odd Squad” of Eugene, Snitsky, & Goldust. Of course, that’s not all the Spirit Squad does on this episode, as they decide to set their sights on the lead commentator of RAW at the time, Joey Styles. https://deadlockpw.com/audio/deadlock-podcast-revisiting-wwe-raw-2006-joey-styles-quits-fallout-from-wwe-backlash/ These videos are Unofficial Retro Syncs, please support the official product and the boys of Deadlock by following and subscribing to all of their socials.
