The family of Brandi Marie Hanowell, a young woman who was shot and killed in Whatcom County nearly 27 years ago, is hopeful that new attention on her case may uncover new leads. “I used to hear that when I was little, ‘Oh, I think about that person every day.’ And I always thought ‘No, you don’t think about it every day’ but I can honestly say that every single day since she’s died, I’ve thought about her,” said Kermit Hanowell, Brandi’s older brother.
