Watch the official music video for “Scar Tissue” by Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Grammy Award-winning lead single from their landmark 1999 album Californication. One of the band’s most enduring alternative rock songs, “Scar Tissue” marked a new chapter for RHCP, introducing a more melodic, introspective sound following the return of guitarist John Frusciante. Featuring Anthony Kiedis on vocals, Flea on bass, John Frusciante on guitar, and Chad Smith on drums, the song pairs Frusciante’s distinctive slide guitar melodies with Kiedis’ reflective lyrics about pain, isolation, and healing. Directed by Stéphane Sednaoui, the official music video follows the band on a sun-soaked road trip through the California desert, with each member visibly battered and bruised, reflecting the song’s themes of struggle and recovery. 🔔 Subscribe to Red Hot Chili Peppers: https://www.youtube.com/@RedHotChiliPeppers Listen to Californication: http://smarturl.it/getrhcpcalifornica Released in 1999, “Scar Tissue” spent 16 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart and won Best Rock Song at the 2000 Grammy Awards.
