The Basement

Currently Playing: The Basement: Hugh Newman | Giant Skeletons, Sumerian Myths, and Megaliths

Hugh Newman is an author, explorer, and ancient mysteries researcher who has spent over two decades investigating megalithic sites around the world. He is the founder of the Megalithomania Conference, now in its 20th year, which brings together academics, archaeologists, and independent researchers to examine ancient sites from multiple disciplines. He co-authored the book Gobekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe: The World's First Megaliths and has written extensively on giants, earth grids, and ancient metrology. Hugh has conducted fieldwork at sites across Turkey, Egypt, Malta, Peru, and Britain, and regularly leads research tours to locations most people never get access to. He appears on Gaia's Ancient Civilizations series and runs the Megalithomania YouTube channel, where he documents new discoveries as they happen. #GobekliTepe #AncientCivilization #AJGentile #HughNewman 00:00 - Intro 01:12 - Megalithomania & Multidisciplinary Archaeology 06:07 - Sneaking Into Forbidden Caves Under the Giza Plateau 13:08 - Who Built the Pyramids & Was the Sphinx a Leopard? 17:54 - Gobekli Tepe & the Tas Tepeler Super Civilization 36:26 - Paleolithic Astronomy & Ancient Secret Societies 41:44 - Underground Cities of Turkey 51:17 - The Winter Solstice Discovery at Karahan Tepe 1:08:29 - Sacred Plates, Psychedelics & Skull Cults 1:14:24 - The Megalithic Yard & Ancient Units of Measure 1:39:16 - Global Alignments & the Stonehenge Connection 2:10:26 - Giants: From Stonehenge to the Smithsonian 2:30:34 - Olmec Heads & New Discoveries 2:36:31 - Outro 〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰 Executive Producers: Jennifer Gentile Gino Gentile AJ Gentile Patreon Members Editors: Joe Stone Drew Sullivan Brandon Snyder Ryan Fitzgerald Producers: Victoria Young Haley Burke Research: Haley Burke AJ Gentile Gino Gentile Jen Gentile Victoria Young Written/Hosted by: AJ Gentile Hecklefish J.
