when an 18 year old console comes into the shop it's going to take a lot of work to get it cleaned up and running great again here's how we do it at DK oldies the console gets opened up and disassembled down to its individual Parts including the fans heat sinks disk drive and motherboard each internal piece is cleared of dust with compressed air including the fans shell heat sinks Vents and more and residue like the old thermal paste is scrubbed away fresh thermal paste is applied heat sinks are reattached and internal Hardware is reassembled before the shell is put together once everything is back together the console is tested for functionality before the external shell and ports are given a second pass to remove any remaining dirt and residue a Q-tip brush and rag can work wonders here [Music] wow this turned out great it's ready to get chipped off to its new home
