Is morality something we learn from society, or is it something we’re born with? Islam teaches that every human is created with fitrah—an innate moral compass that inclines us toward truth and justice. But can this fitrah be weakened? And how does it compare to Western philosophical attempts to explain morality? Philosophers like Thomas Aquinas argued for Natural Law, claiming that morality is self-evident through reason. Immanuel Kant introduced the categorical imperative, suggesting that humans possess an internal sense of duty to act ethically. But both fall short. Reason alone is not enough—history has shown how intellect without divine guidance can justify oppression, injustice, and moral relativism. In this video, we explore: 🔹 The Islamic concept of fitrah and why it is more than just a moral instinct 🔹 The limitations of Aquinas, Kant, and Freud's theories on morality 🔹 How even modern research shows that even infants recognize fairness and justice 🔹 The Qur’anic warning about how sins and societal influences can corrupt our moral compass 🔹 How we can preserve and strengthen our fitrah in a world full of moral confusion Are we nurturing our fitrah, or are we allowing it to be veiled by distractions and desires? Let’s reflect
