It was so good. Who made the the cake? That was like shaped like a truck. That was so cool. >> I have no idea. >> That was super talented, man. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's definitely been devoured, but yeah, no. Very, very exciting indeed. And of course, as you may have seen from our blog yesterday, we've got a whole month ahead of celebrations. This is just one of many streams. There's much more coming up. >> Oh my god. I want to I want a slice. Whoa. Why did he get that That's great. >> Chad, you are invited. Come here. Bring a knife. We will do 500 pieces of that. >> [laughter] >> It's really >> to be paper thin, but You get a slice. You get a slice. Well, Chad, welcome along for our American Truck Simulator 10th anniversary [laughter] You have to like It's bigger than his head, man. Look at this. >> [laughter] >> He's tricked. You know that scene from Matilda where the kids eating all the chocolate cake? I can imagine that's what Peter's doing, yeah. But um But yeah, we've got a great stream ahead. We're going to be kind of reminiscing and getting into some nostalgic parts. But if you're with us for the very first time, welcome along, everyone. In the studio, we have Nemiro behind the wheel today. Good to see you, Nemiro. Hey, I'm I'm fine. You're going to share with us some insights and some maybe some memories if you can remember them about your time about kind of the the release of some of the earlier DLCs. >> [laughter] >> We should have given you a rocking chair for the stream, man. You know, like [laughter] just sitting there rocking back and forth. Uh, we've also got Peter as well, one of our uh newer community managers here. And good to see you, Peter. >> [laughter] >> Did you saw his wave? Hi, guys. >> [laughter] >> Everyone wave back. Everyone wave back and smile to Peter, please. Uh, in the chat. Chad, anyone's Did you Did you Did you see the uh movie Smile, the horror movie, Chad? That's basically [laughter] me there. Every time We were just talking about it before the stream. Every time through the day of any work day in the office, when I look at Peter, and I can be just walking around, you know, his his his spot. When I look at Peter, he's looking straight back into my eyes and smiling silently. Yeah. That's [laughter] creepy as hell, man. You have to stop doing that. This is just Twitch added an emote of Peter. He just just a smiling face in the chat, and then There he [laughter] is. And of course, I'm Alex, one of your community managers as well. Good to see you all. Thanks for being here. Thanks for support supporting us for the 10 years of American Truck Simulator. We've seen so many of your social media photos, screenshots, and you know, comments reminiscing about the past. And so, this is just one of many streams. Some competition and ask people to share their like super old screenshots of Yeah, yeah. We're thinking about doing like a 10-year challenge, right, Peter? Like some of the the older like screenshots you've seen. >> Yeah. Um, maybe we could even get onto some older versions of the game. We'll have to We'll have to check that out at some point. But we do already have a lot of planned in the works for this month, as you might have read from the blog yesterday. We'll go through that in a little bit. But first of all, you know, what were you thinking for today in terms of trucking on American Truck Simulator? Um, I'm going to drive the heck out of this truck. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> We are still rocking the 1.58 open beta with Mark's profile with all his money. Yes. And he's not here, so so we can spend it on cake. Spend it all on cake. We can buy burger in in in city as a cabinet. A little bit like a cake. Guys, let me let me hit the hit the road. And you know, I will be just driving around. You know the meme like, "What you doing?" >> [laughter] >> Me? Nothing. Just driving Just driving around. That's going to be me, and we can, you know, go down the memory lane together. >> I like the idea of that cuz we we kind of want to take it back to the beginning, of course. What we're looking at right now is the latest version of our game currently in open beta, but you know, when this game released in 2016, it was a completely different look. And we're talking not only uh game-wise, but also graphics-wise, the lighting was different. There's been a lot of changes. You can see on the screen right now. This is uh I believe one of the earliest screenshots, maybe even from some of these for the for the blog we released yesterday, right? Yes. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Um, and it was kind of just kind of a a reminiscence of of kind of how American Truck Simulator used to be. Now, there are some elements of the game that are still interesting to this day from those kind of older versions, but they've been significantly changed or upgraded in in many ways. And um of course, back then, the team was also a lot smaller as well. I mean, I think Was it mentioned in the blog how many people have been working on American Truck Simulator at the time? I think it was in one of the blogs. >> Ooh, I don't know, but I think the team was like super small in comparison to what what what the size of a team that is working on ATS in these days is, right? I think it was like 10 people maybe back then. Yeah. Yeah, cuz when I was reading the V scale blog, um they said SCS Software, this is back in 2016, was just about a team of 20 people. So, think about it. That's two games between 20 people. So, you know, obviously they were quite spread out thin, but it was such a major task at the time. And and the work that they did then was incredible uh to get the game out. You need a what? You need a guitar. We need a guitar. Yeah. I don't know why, but to play the birthday song. >> see some of the team members there. This is This was at um Do you remember what expo this was at, by the way? This was the one that's on screen right now. Was this from one of the PJs or was this one from one of the American ones? I think this is one of the American ones, maybe even. Or >> it was, right? One of the first time we went to America, I think it might have been. I think so, yeah. Was it PAX or I don't think it was at Might be, man. I was not around at that time. You know, I joined I joined in March 2016, so 1 month after the release of ATS. So, next month is going to be my 10 years as well. Nice. But I was not there. I was not there at the at the event. This was from PAX East in 2016. Um, in Boston. Boston, Massachusetts. So, it was their very first time showing the game American Truck Simulator at a public event since it was released. Um, so it was quite popular, and a lot of people came to see it, which is a really, really cool. Maybe one or two of you actually even um might have been there. So, um that's that's pretty cool. But um but yeah, it's it's great to just kind of look back on some of the older things, for example, as well. The launch trailer as well, some of the older screenshots. All that we've included in the blog uh yesterday. Um, and of course, the official release uh was yesterday on in 2016, February 2nd. Uh, and that came with the states of California and Nevada, if I'm remembering correctly, right? Is that kind of the default Arizona came quickly after as a free DLC, I believe, right? Yes. Um, but of course, there were some big changes as well that came just a little bit later down the line. >> [laughter] >> Give it a little bit later down the line. Now, Chad, what I want you to do throughout the stream, if you have any comments or maybe some memories of the first time you were trucking American Truck Simulator, we'd love to read them and read them out as well. So, I'm going to ask the first question to you all. Chad, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, we're watching you here. Good to see you all. Um, when was the first time you discovered American Truck Simulator? That's what I'd like to know. >> question. That's a good question. >> Yeah. And I guess for you guys in the studio, too. Peter, Nemiro, do you remember? Ooh. I I was playing ETS2, and to be honest, I didn't really know ATS was supposed to release at that time. But my friends told me, my friends who I was playing ETS2 with. So, yeah. So, what sh- shortly after it released, we started playing ATS as well. And yeah, at that time, I think that was probably the most I played either of our games. So, yeah. So, we were playing with my friends in uh in multiplayer. That was a lot of fun. TruckersMP back then, right? Because convoy was not really released. Convoy was not released, yeah, yeah. That's absolutely right. Nemiro, do you remember? Was it something you You've known a little bit through work, right? But Yeah, I think uh I started playing ATS shortly after I joined SCS. I because before I played only ETS2 and ETS1, and you know, Scania Driving Simulator or or even the older games. Um, but then, you know, I quickly fell in love with ATS because of to me, the American trucks, they look more like I don't know how to say the spirit of trucking in my idea is more related to the long nose trucks than the cab over seat. Yeah, the big rigs, you know, the wide roads. Uh, so I loved that. And uh yeah, so I think that's actually like 10 years back as well. 10 years back as well. Crazy. Looking at some of the comments in the chat. Um, we've got people a range of people uh saying, you know, different ways that they got introduced to ATS. Obviously, a lot of people who were already playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 were already kind of following our news, you know, found American Truck Simulator from playing Euro Truck Simulator 2. I think it's quite a natural progression for a lot of our community that already existed back then. I still remember back then with the release, there was only Kenworth, I believe, truck there. >> Yeah, yeah. And even Peterbilt maybe? When we started when I started our Instagram profile the very first content was a short video of a of a teaser for Peterbilt 389 truck in the in the dark just you know starting the engine and Mhm. turning the headlight headlamps on. That was the whole video. That was the first content for our Instagram and you know 10 years back we have what 3,000 300,000 something followers. Organically gained you know we never paid for any boost >> Mhm. on social media so It's kind of like >> I It's kind of like I might start crying >> [laughter] >> in a few minutes if we will continue like you know remembering those days. Yeah. Those were the days man. Those were the days. I mean I'm I'm kind of like trying to I should have done this beforehand but I'm looking through my Steam purchase history which is actually making me even more sad cuz I've just realized how much money I've actually spent on Steam but besides >> [laughter] >> besides besides that I was just looking actually when did I actually purchase American Truck Simulator cuz I'm pretty sure it'd be on here. Oh that's that's a good way how to be able to save. >> Yeah, yeah. Is there is >> when you started? Is that as well. I'll keep looking here in a minute but I'm going to read through some more comments. Other people saying that they discovered American Truck Simulator through various different YouTubers Jeff Favignano being one of them. The OG the OG Jeff. He he done a lot of good Squirrel as well, right? Squirrel as well, yeah big shout out to them both and a lot of other streamers there as well. A lot of people heard through their friends as well it seems like. A lot of people were recommended the game um and also a lot of people as well during 2021. A lot of 2021 truckers around here. I imagine that it might have coincided with you know the times where people are home a lot more during COVID and and stuff like this so everyone was like video game how to entertain themselves, right? Yeah how can I go outside without going outside? American Truck Simulator you know. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> It's it's perfect so it's great to see so many people um discovering the game in lots of different ways and we even have some more recent truckers as well you know as some from this year as well. So whether you started just yesterday or whether you've been with us the whole entire time well thank you everyone for your support it really does mean a lot to us and we are we hope you're enjoying your journey on the road and there's a lot more on the road ahead that is for sure. um MER14 saying I've played Euro Truck Simulator 2 since Christmas 2014 and I pre-ordered the deluxe or the collector's edition of American Truck Simulator with the small rig with it. Now that's a throwback. Does anyone in the chat have like some of the collector's editions that we released cuz that came with there was like the enchanted edition, right? It came with some goodies in the in the in the box. I think we have some of those in the office still. Kind of like a display, yeah. So By the way rumors say that maybe we are working on a some brainstorming to do a collector edition of our games again in the upcoming future. >> Really? Yeah. Ooh. With some really cool things in it. Dang. Rumors say I don't know. You don't know? Rumors say. No? I don't know. Nothing confirmed there. And there's a lot of people asking about you know if we're going to do some more physical stuff in the future especially with some of the upcoming platforms we're going to be releasing to so well let's see what the future holds chat. Let's see. Let's see. Um and yeah I know that some people as well on social media have been sharing some of maybe like the little bits of merch they've managed to acquire over the years whether that be from our old store that we used to have or uh even meeting us in person cuz we used to give away a lot of t-shirts and all sorts when we're going to expos and my truck caps and lanyards and and all sorts like this as well. >> way chat this year we going to be back at Gamescom in entertainment area as well. We going to have a booth there so mark your calendars and you know plan your trip to Gamescom meet with us there because we definitely will not come empty-handed and it will be nice to meet you there after quite a long break you know in the recent years like three four years we've been at Gamescom only in the B2B area you know talking with our partners but not really having a big booth in entertainment area but this year we're going we we're returning in in that zone as well. >> Awesome. I had a lot of fun last time we were there cuz we did a kind of a big booth the last time I was there with you guys. Uh this is pre-COVID and we had like the almost like garage kind of looking setup. >> Oh you were there with the with the ring with two simulators on it. >> Yeah and we had Cyberpunk next to us as well. I remember everyone was hyping up for that as well. Yeah that was a lot of fun. It was great to meet so many people from the community then as well so I'm hoping I can I can be there and be with everyone as well then to meet up with everyone. That'd be a lot of fun. Well I think I think you know we will need all our community managers to to to be there so I've never been to Gamescom. I've never been to the to Gamescom. Never? You've never been? Oh man. Oh you're in for a ride man. >> [laughter] >> That's going to be a new new new core memory unlocked for you. Oh [laughter] my god. As much as I love it like you're doing like 30,000 40,000 steps a day. You're up at like 2:00 a.m. Yeah people people are you know willing to stand in a queue for 10 minutes gameplay for 4 hours. Like really for 4 hours for example. You will see like a queues and you know after let's say 30 people standing in the queue there is a sign saying like you're waiting for 2 hours since this point. On this point, yeah. Yeah so it's crazy. I saw [laughter] those signs. I was always wondering how they are like able to calculate this but I guess there is Man and imagine if imagine if Rockstar would go there with something. Oh don't. Oh You'd have to be there first in line for the day and then that's it. The line would be from Cologne all the way to Prague man. You go to Gamescom for one game. That's crazy. >> [laughter] >> And just a bit of an inside joke for us but can we get the same security guard as last time as well? >> [laughter] >> Alfred or how we call him? Alfred, yeah. >> [laughter] >> He was he might oh my god. Shout out to Alfred whoever he is. He broke the key of the only door on our booth the first night. >> [laughter] >> And then the second night he he never came. >> [laughter] >> I wouldn't came either. I would be scared you know if I broke the only key. >> [laughter] >> You know you know he was supposed to like you know wander around or sit at the at the booth and you know guard all the hardware there and first question he dropped at me when he came the first day to his like kind of a work he asked me where he can sleep. >> [laughter] >> If I can give him a key of the of the locker room you know >> [laughter] >> the small small social room there and he he can sleep there. I was like uh >> [laughter] >> Good times good times so let's see how this year is going. Well that's going to be very very exciting indeed but some good memories there some good memories there for sure. Let's get back on track with American Truck Simulator though. >> [snorts] >> Let's look a bit back as well um back in 2016 of course we talked about the actual release where we had California Nevada with the game. We had Arizona drop in 2016 as well but later in 2016 I believe it was around December American Truck Simulator was actually New Mexico? New Mexico, yeah. Well like I mean Arizona was a free DLC so it was like a free but the paid wise and New Mexico. um but but yeah version 25 version 1. 5 of American Truck Simulator. Wait what? That's how far we've come 1.5. But wait a minute now we have update 1.1.58 >> Yeah 58. We didn't really we didn't really get far from that. [laughter] Well it's 1. like 05 I I I assume >> 05 the fifth Yeah. 53 So in December we had quite a big change to American Truck Simulator. Maybe a lot of you would remember this. Um this was the map scale change. >> Oh the rescale. Um the rescale [clears throat] of American Truck Simulator. Didn't we didn't we had a special video trailer for that as well? Benny can you pull it up? >> Yeah. Let's check this out. Benny do you you have it somewhere? Oh Benny has Benny has it. Benny is on Benny is on caffeine today man. Go down memory lane. Let's take let's take a look at this. I've been cruising the West Coast for almost a year. Some roads I almost know by heart now. Run after run I'm getting better at this. I'm a veteran now. More efficient. I drink more coffee too. Or is my mug just getting bigger? Everything seems to be different today. The world around is changing. New places to explore. Hundreds of miles to discover. Here I am on the road again. Trucking. Enjoy the world. Now in 120. Oh man, nice trailer. >> Who the heck is that? >> Imagine us flexing with, you know, adding a few like adding new content in it and then, you know, a few years later Texas came. How massive that was. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. Fun fact, Chad. I don't know if you noticed, but if you watched the new American Truck Simulator like the the base game video trailer released like 1 year back, 2 years back, we we reworked that video trailer. We actually We actually found the same guy for the voiceover that was in this trailer. That's legendary. I was I'm just saying the OG trailer. >> The original one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> in Prague. No way. >> And he was still, yeah, let's do that. That's so cool. Yeah, I mean, that's a legendary voice that we've had at SCS Software for for quite a while, so it's great to have him and to hear him as well when some of those older videos again, um, like you mentioned there. So, that's pretty cool. But, yeah, what an epic trailer that one. That was taking the, uh, map scale from 135 to 120 meant 75% longer roads outside the cities, um, completely like reworking a lot of the road networks and, you know, revamping problematic junctions Mhm. and and more. So, it really made a big difference in terms of American Truck Simulator gameplay. And it's almost like doubling the size, right? True. Yeah. Big milestone. Um, I know I remember the time cuz I was saying like, "Hey, this needs to be done now, otherwise it'll be, you know, too much in the future to do." So, it had to be done quite early on. So, it was a big task for the for the smaller team that happened there. And of course, that paved the way for, uh, many of the future DLCs, um, that we released along the line. Yeah. >> Yes, sir. We have been. >> might run into some, you know, challenges when we will be approaching, uh, the East Coast, for example. Imagine like, you know, recreating New York or these kind of states. Oh, wow. Oh my god. That's going to be a tough challenge, man, for our imagination. >> tough. Very, very tough indeed. Um, yeah, moving on then through then we've had obviously a range of different DLCs release, uh, throughout 2017, 2018, all the way up to today. Uh, and of course, throughout that time we also had lots of World of Trucks events. One which I've had as my background today. And on my camera Let's Let's get some guesses in the chat. Chat, who knows what this location is in my background? What was the best World of Trucks online event for American Truck Simulator? Does anyone know? Was anyone there for it? Cuz this one was epic. I was there. I can already see it in the chat. Move in my swivel my chair a little bit. >> Juggernaut paint job event, exactly. >> [laughter] >> That was not the official name, but yes, it's the same event. Big Sur. Operation Big Sur. When was that? Oh, uh You know, in real world there happened, uh, there happened a massive landslide Mhm. that, you know, covered quite a big part of certain road around the coast. >> It was California State Route 1. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And our teams were able to quickly recreate the same happening in our game and then we asked community to bring, you know, machines and, you know, you know, uh, haul away, uh uh, what's the word for it? Stones and mud and dirt, you know. >> Yeah. Mhm. And, uh, yeah, that was massive. That was massive. And everyone participated in it. That was Yeah, it was awesome. It was a pretty >> Juggernaut paint job. Yeah, I mean, the the rewards were really, really cool, but the community spirit was even better. Like, I remember seeing just all of these screenshots from online of people taking, um, part in the event, uh, not only in single player, but also, like you said, in the multiplayer mod as well. >> hours worth of traffic jams, right? >> I remember for the first time seeing those massive traffic jams in TruckersMP in that event. Yeah. Okay. This is a little bit crazy, but cool as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, I mean, the original, um, landslide happened in May 2017 on the, uh, Carmel-San Simeon Highway. That's part of California State Route 1. Uh, it made it impassable, so it was completely blocked by 2 million cubic feet of dirt, rock, sand, and mud. Like, it was a huge task in real life they had to undertake. Um, and it was something that was decided to be, you know help help virtually and replicate in American Truck Simulator 2 and it brought together people from around the world to to help out, uh, in this event. And like, uh, Nemiro said, you know, just hours worth of people queuing up to help drop off equipment and stuff and coming together. And of course, collecting those really, really cool rewards and paint jobs which are legendary. Yeah. Wasn't that the time when us two met or got in got in touch for the first time? Because I think you back then was already like you know, heavily involved in, uh, TruckersFM. Yes. The radio you you helped, uh, or, you know, basically founded. Mhm. And I think you guys approached it us with some, uh, promotion for the event through through TruckersFM and, you know, we were giving you some keys for the giveaways. And then shortly after you came for a visit with your brother. Or am I confusing you? >> that's very true. No, no, that's very true. Yeah, we I remember talking to you over social media on email. Uh, we said, "Hey." Cuz I think we previously did something in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the Goodyear event or the FIA with the event. And we did a hashtag on our social media which actually got very popular and you guys recognized this as well. And so then we decided to partner up in the next event in American Truck Simulator. And, um, we used the hashtag hashtag Operation Big Sur. And we went, you know, we partnered up to say like, "Listen TruckersFM and we'll be providing updates on the event and while you're like all trucking together and helping out." And, uh, yeah, we caused a lot of ruckus on social media. >> even doing those jingles of a news report from from from from the side, right? That saying that traffic traffic jam reports. That was so cool. >> Traffic jam reports, all sorts. Yeah, so making it really immersive as part of the the event there as well. We still do similar things to this day with TruckersMP and their real operation events and stuff that they do as well. So, uh, but yeah, that was a big one back then. And, uh, yeah, I remember that um that the community like actually managed to compete with this event very, very quickly and, uh, you know, it became to be known as one of those legendary events in American Truck Simulator's timeline. We always kind of look back on it and, uh, I know a lot of people were like, "Yeah, we would love to have another one." But, reality is it's like, uh, we don't really plan the landslides. It wasn't a paid actor. [laughter] Yeah, it's not It's not a paid actor. I know we had something obviously quite similar for, um, in Italy as well when we, uh, helped out with the bridge there for Euro Truck Simulator >> more like serious happening in real life. >> Yeah. People got hurt and Mhm. With the with the with the Big Big Sur landslide, I think no one got hurt, right? No one was there when it happened, so. >> I don't believe so, yeah. But, um Yeah, it I mean, it was really, really fun. It was a quite a dynamic event that people got to reopen the road, which was a lot of fun. So, a lot of good memories there. Chad, if you have any of these kind of like older screenshots from these events, um, maybe they send the hell out of social media with them, man. We want to see that. We would >> We will retweet them. We will share them on our Facebook and Instagram. Um, we would love to take a trip down memory lane with you. So, if you have any older screenshots >> win yourself a key of a DLC or or something or something. >> we'll do some giveaways. Yeah, so Yeah. That'd be really, really cool. >> I was looking for some screenshots from when I started playing ATS, but I couldn't find any of them. Must have got lost or I didn't find them, which is a shame. Yeah, I I I think like no one really thinks about that, you know, you should back up the screenshots from your your documents and settings folder because you might need them 10 years later, right, for a certain game. >> [laughter] >> That's very, very true. Uh, Joe Alex in our chat saying I still use the Big Sur excavator hanging toy on my trucks. >> to Joe Alex. That's also a name that's, you know, that's riding with us for many years. Mhm. Yes. Yeah, yeah, always been a big supporter. We appreciate you a lot. And, um, yeah, I believe that if I remember correctly, there was two versions of this plush excavator that was hanging from your truck. >> the banjo as well. I think there was yellow and red one. The red one was the American flag, right? Or the red one Is it a red one? Yeah, I think you may be right with the red one. But, one of them was rarer. Um, I'm going to double check here. excavator excavator I don't know how to ex >> [laughter] >> excavator Need to brush up on my spelling. Um Uh, one was the US flag, yeah. You're correct. That's it. Yeah, so it was like a red one with a red arm, but then the actual body of the excavator had like the American stars and stripes on it. Yeah. And this was a rarer variant. I believe it had like a rarer drop. Cuz it was just random if you got this one in your World of Trucks event when you got the rewards. You could have gotten the yellow one, which is a lot more common, or the, uh this American one, which was a bit rarer. And I think I have the American one, which I'm very happy with. >> cyborg_3000 asking, "Hey, big question. When is the next Steam sale for ETS2?" Ooh, well, I actually believe that we going to have some sales at the end of this month. Mhm. I think so. Right, Peter? >> Hey, okay. Well, yeah. If you say so, >> [laughter] >> Again, I looked at him and he was smiling at me. I You're going to frown next time, man. Chad, send help. You know what? >> From now on, no more smiles for you. And you don't appreciate. >> [laughter] >> Okay, I can do it. >> [laughter] >> I want to give you a cookie, man. To make your day better. Maybe that's the strategy. You should be like super sad to people and they will be giving you giving you treats. Maybe it [laughter] could work, yeah. That's a lot of fun. That's a lot of fun. So, yeah. I mean, that was one of the very very cool events that we had in American Truck Simulator. What are some of the other events that we've had? We've had a lot of course the the cruising events as well. Oh, yeah. Plenty of them, yeah. Yeah, I'm just trying to I'm just trying to think back now about some of the uh When does When do you think with the cruising event started? Even? Do we remember? >> a question. There's a question. Um >> Man, how bad I am at the reversing. The answer is yes. Yes. Yes. >> [laughter] >> That said, does anyone remember the World of Trucks event for double trailer logistics for American Truck Simulator? What? No. You need to know this. There was such thing. In 2017? October 13th. This is on our blog. Yeah, I'm reading this from our blog, so it's definitely definitely true. It was posted by you, man. What do you mean? [laughter] You wrote the blog. Okay. >> [laughter] >> I don't remember, man. You can't expect >> 9 years. I've got You don't want You don't You hopefully don't want me to remember all the articles >> [laughter] >> I wrote back in the day. >> to post it. I'm going to post it in the chat. Must have been a few hundred, right? I don't know. Back in the day it was like for for for some time it was mainly me like doing articles. Then Alex joined the team. And then >> like We had like Pavel originally did the every >> [laughter] >> Do you want to help? No. >> [laughter] >> One of our old colleagues, Maddy, I think it was used to write most of the articles, yeah. Yeah, some of our old older colleagues there as well. But yeah, I posted the the blog in the chat there for you to open, but um It says here like of all the internal projects in SCS Software's production pipeline, the New Mexico DLC for ATS is the closest to finish. Um But they also like said, besides New Mexico, they want to do the double. Yeah. Hey, Mark. You wouldn't believe what happened, man. I I turned on your profile and the truck is covered in a completely new >> [laughter] >> I don't know. It must be the open beta. You know, some bugs and here and there it happens, right? >> [laughter] >> But it's a beautiful one. See, horses. >> [laughter] [laughter] >> Horses on the side. New fuel economy. That's what Mark needs. He's always pedal to the metal. This is the double trailer logistics World of Trucks event was in October 2017. They needed to transport a total of 300,000 lb of cargo using only double trailers. Wow. Oh, okay. Yes, yeah. Uh the rewards, you got an atmospheric sunset background for your truck, which was like a main menu desktop background, which was one of the rewards. Um you also um got an achievement on World of Trucks as well. Do you remember that one? That's kind of a bit more of an obscure one, I would say actually in terms of World of Trucks events. So, that was an interesting one. Oh my god, I want a job that will take me more to the east, not back. What do you want Where do you want to go to? Uh more to the east. California. >> east. California, of course some of our original base game states that have been reworked a lot over the years, that's for sure. >> Take this one. Concrete barrier. Sounds a bit boring. Grain. All the way to New Mexico. Okay, let's go let's go let's go. >> [laughter] >> Perfect. Speaking of, do you remember the teaser you guys put out for New Mexico? >> [laughter] >> Yeah. You mean the the one with the alien? The one with the alien behind the rock? Does anyone remember watching that? >> Yeah. Can we pull it up? Benny, can you try to look that one on YouTube? Because actually actually, uh I don't know you chat know that, but the movement of the alien in the in the trailer was motion captured on Chanda, our our colleague, who does videos. >> Yes. >> [laughter] >> That's Chanda's moves, man. No way. I'm trying to find the video so I can help Benny find it. Hopefully he can I'm not sure if he's going to beat me to it. He might. Benny, do you do you have a copy of this that we find it for you? He's working on it. Okay. I'm going to I'm going to help you out. I'm going to help you out. But yeah, that was a fun Jupiter, Mars. I mean, cuz that whole state's kind of like a a thing around it, right? Of like aliens and stuff. Huh? So. No. No. It was 2020, man. That was like >> 2017. 2017, 2018 >> Well, yeah, because we we were uh reworking most of our trailers, remember? With the new in-game lightning system and 2017 is the OG one. Yeah. You have this? You have it on the on on Should be a teaser, not New Mexico video trailer. You know, play it. We will see if you found the correct one. Yeah. Play it. We'll see. We'll see. If not, I'll I'll find it. >> you find. >> [laughter] >> No, I'm just joking. Yeah, those are fun. I love some of those more fun kind of like teasers you did back in the day there with the the different states and stuff and kind of teasing what would be coming next. That was a lot of fun, actually. Uh looking back on >> I still like our teasers like the one we did with you and for with the recipe for a perfect English tea. >> A perfect tea. And I drank the tea afterwards. We still have the pack We still have the pack of Yeah, it was cold. Yorkshire tea here in the office. >> Oh, really? No one's really drunk it that much, or No. It's really strong. >> You know, our team is more running on a coffee than tea. >> Uh yeah, that's true. I I liked it, but I feel like it's stronger than coffee. It is actually. Uh Benny, I found it. Just to make sure you got the correct one. It's this one here. I'm not sure if you've got this one. Yeah, because it was a teaser, Benny, you know. It was [laughter] the first Benny was Benny was like searching New Mexico teaser >> [laughter] >> in the search in the search window. Yeah, what state's coming next? We have no idea. [laughter] >> [laughter] >> To be honest, I would have done the same, probably. Just not thinking about it. Man just typed Google into Google, man. That's crazy. >> [laughter] >> Uh good times, good times, yeah. Um but yeah, that's just some of the old ones. We're going to get this teaser up here running for you in a second, chat, but um but yeah, that was a lot of fun. Chat, what was the first maybe DLC state that you guys got to go explore and purchase? Does anyone remember what they uh was one of the first states they they headed to after the the base game? I think it must have been New Mexico because it was the first one released if you don't count Arizona. True. Yeah. But the first one I'm saying New Mexico. Or the the first one I got really excited about for me was Colorado. Oh, it's ready. We Okay, Benny, let's watch it. >> Let's watch Chanda's moves. This is a lot of fun. >> [laughter] >> So much fun. Yo. Yo, man. That's >> [laughter] >> That's the That's the best thing ever, man. I can't believe There was so much fun recording that, man. I was there in the same, you know, motion capture room. It was It was super improvised motion capture room built upon actually Xbox sensors. Or the Kinect, right? >> Yeah, Kinect. Yeah. And you know, I went first to to you know, kind of be the the figure to record this movement. But when I tried, the guys told me that my movement looks like a big chicken. >> [laughter] >> So, they politely asked me to get out. And then Chen then Chanda did it and they used his, you know, movement. [laughter] That's crazy. I can't believe we got we got Megamind in American Truck Simulator. Megamind before GTA 6. Before GTA 6, that's crazy. >> [laughter] >> We did it, man. We did it. That's crazy. But yeah, I remember because like this was like a new technology that, you know, we had at the studio that we began to play with and that eventually led to a lot of the characters and people you see walking around the American Truck Simulator world today, right? Like I mean You see about 8 million tenders and Nemiros. Yeah, we are everywhere. With different jobs. >> [laughter] >> They are everywhere. Maybe they are the alien that alien and just, you know, cloned themselves and put them around the world. But I mean, that you know, that was >> that, man? I'm trying to find it out. Yeah, but I don't think I have it anymore, [clears throat] but maybe I maybe I do. Let me see. But but yeah, I mean, that was a time where we started like investing in different technologies and bringing the world a little bit more to life and and such like that. And of course, with that expansion you know, a lot more in to be from it, you know, we learned a lot from our first map expansion and you know, as time went over, the map team grew, learned new technologies, then we released another DLC and you know, just kind of carried on in a forward motion like this. So yeah, it was quite an exciting time. It was quite an exciting time, absolutely. By the way >> Do you Do you remember what was your first truck in ATS? Oh. Yes. Um Believe it was the Kenworth, actually. I think so, yeah. >> yeah. I think the Kenworth was one of my first trucks. >> I've actually I think I've never changed it until like 2 years back. I I don't even remember what I replaced it with. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, but I think I also also had also had the Kenworth for like, yeah, what, 8 years? What about you, chat? What was the first truck that you purchased in American Truck Simulator? Do you all remember? Let's see if we can tap into your brains and into your memories a little bit. Man, I don't have that. That's sad, man. I wonder where it went. It is what it is. I'm going to leave here. Oh, so >> [laughter] >> Dave Rooter said that alien is still there. It can be seen around midnight in the right area. Wait, really? In the game? Does it have the same Still hanging about? That sounds like a guy. Oh, wait. I don't know what to say. I know Easter eggs, right? I know there are some like Easter eggs for aliens around New Mexico, so >> that's a green light. And it's still found there. I'm going to have to We're going to have to go check that out, man. We're going to have to head to New Mexico at night. See if we can spot that alien at some point. I mean, this job has taken me to New Mexico. Maybe we'll see him. Maybe. Maybe he's trapped in the game forever. Yeah, we abduct we abducted him. It was like a opposite day, you know, like >> [laughter] >> Put him in the game forever. All right, let's see. Kenworth W900, the Peterbilt 389 for a lot of people. W900 with the day cab, the Kenworth T680. Interesting, interesting. Peterbilts, Peterbilts, a lot of people. People. They were saying it's no joke, it is there. It's rare though, it doesn't happen all the time. You can also spot UFOs around midnight in the same area. Chat, are you pulling us? Or is it actually a thing? >> I mean, there's some weird stuff around those states because of all like the Yeah. history of it and Area 51 and all sorts. I think I even remember at some point, I don't know if it's still there, but seen three giant ducks at a rest stop. Really? >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's crazy. >> Well That's That's in New Mexico as well. I don't know if that's in New Mexico. I think it might be in a different state. >> to go there or something. I don't know where that is. I don't know if they're still He's He's so interested in the ducks now. He loves He loves ducks. You man, that guy is creepy as hell. >> [laughter] >> I love ducks. Sure you do. Sure you do. Chat, if you've seen any of those Easter eggs, if you've spotted that alien send it to us on our social media. We want to see a photo of that. We want to We want to see that. Um the three toy ducks are still there. Okay. Okay, good to know. Good to know. Good to know they survived for 10 years, man. >> [laughter] >> They're still doing their thing. They are still doing their thing. Um one other thing as well that I do want to note on the timeline here was pretty cool. Back in 2017, you guys went to MATS as well, the Mid-America Trucking Show. There you had a full motion semi-truck simulator. Do you remember this? >> I was not there, but I know what you're talking about. You were not there. The Peterbilt 579. That was pretty cool. >> was not That was not built by us. That was a different company building the the the the rig using real cabin of a real truck. And they were just, you know, powering it by our game, which was still a cool thing, but we didn't still very cool. We didn't really build the rig. Yeah, got you. Got you. Okay, okay. Still a still a cool thing to remember though as we're kind of scrolling through the years here as we would say now. Um speaking of when was our first American Truck Simulator Let's Play? That's what I want to know. I'm just trying to look for it now, actually. >> it wouldn't have been that long ago. It was still I think so, right? >> office. Yeah? Uh at the green line. >> Yeah. Definitely. Because when when I started in October 2023 uh the ETS2 Let's Play series had like seven episodes. Really? ATS one had like 20. Okay. So maybe it started in 2013. Alex, do you do you remember our first streams in back in the OG room, you know, with the Ooh, like we were pretending you and Pavel Shevord doing the >> Yes. uh the campfire sausage roasting, you know, and then >> Yeah. We We even roasted the sausages during the, you know, breaks uh with lighters to to for them to be looking more like cooked. >> [laughter] >> I remember cuz I remember cuz I was awkward. The man, that was so cool. We were so worried that it will trigger the fire alarm. >> [laughter] >> It was such a different setup then, too, cuz we weren't doing this whole in-game stream thing where we had our cameras on the screen. It was like we had two chairs and a sofa. It was like a talk show with a the TV in the middle and we've learned a lot we've changed a lot since then in terms of streaming. Um we definitely had a a pretty interesting start to it, but hey, this is where it's led to. The first Let's Play, by the way Let's Play American Truck Simulator was 4 years ago, January 26th 2022 with me and Nemiro. Yep. We were there. That was it. It was our very first one. Man a lot of a lot of trucking since then. So uh yeah, ATS one was ETS2. Uh ETS2. Let's play in the old one. It must have been in the old one. I started after the American Truck one, right? The American Truck one was first. I'm not sure when the Euro Truck one started. I'm just like scrolling through now. Yeah. Any of you remember some of the first streams you came to tune into with us here at SCS Software? Does anyone remember the first stream that they saw? The base must must have, you know, picked up a lot since then. I think so. Cuz we had a lot of like community convoys and stuff in between as well. I'm just scrolling now through the YouTube channel just to see if I can uh Here it is. The first ETS2 Let's Play I found a photo on my Instagram of the old studio. I will send it to Benny over WhatsApp. Benny, maybe you can pull it up. The first ETS2 Let's Play was on May 5th, 2023. Okay. There you go. So much later than the than the ATS one, but long, long ago. One point for Nemiro using his phone. Hey, he's sharing memories, guys. Yeah, I'm sharing memories. Come on. Being on the phone while driving. >> There is a playlist You're right. I did that the wrong way. That we do have playlists on the SCS channel. I could have scrolled through there except and not through every single video on our YouTube channel. >> [laughter] >> I'm trying to find memories, man. Another really cool teaser that I remember Do you remember this one that we did with uh Mack? Remember the teaser for Mack that we did, Nemiro? Not to be sniffed at with the dog. >> Oh, yeah, not to be sniffed at the bulldog, you know, running through the bulldog. Oh, Benny, that's another thing you can pull up later. I've just I've just sent it to him. I just sent it to him, so he should have That was so cool. That was during COVID as well. That was quite hard to pull, man. Mm mm. You know, because at that time it was quite difficult to be able to, you know, meet with people. Mhm. And to find a job and to find a bulldog that will be able to, you know run from from behind the corner, hop on the bed, you know upon Yeah, look at that. That's the old studio. Check that out. Yes, yes, yes. Snowman. What is he doing? I remember him. Is he gone? He's gone, man. Where's SCS Snowman? He melted down. He melted down. No. He's not cool anymore. Aw, man. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. That's so cool. What am I looking at? That's the old studio and that was the Christmas >> Uh sorry sorry sorry, Dev. That was a pretty heavy party back then, you know. >> [laughter] >> Too heavy party. >> streaming studio. Crazy, huh? And we had to I remember we always had to move these chairs and the background from >> Yeah, back at like back and forth, right? Because we were always getting them from from the [laughter] canteen. Where was that? Was it in the previous office? Yeah, that was at the Yeah, previous office. They don't make the parties like they used to. That I mean I don't know how the parties are today, but I remember the parties got pretty pretty fun last time I was there in the videos. We had a TV there, but we mostly used it for a No, actually back then we had a gameplay the gameplay was on the TV, but that was a a third guy sitting in the opposite corner of that of that room playing live and you [laughter] were just bringing the image to that TV. He was off to the side, yeah, just playing the game. >> [laughter] >> We made it so hard for ourselves, man. I don't know why we didn't figure this out. And we had like 12 trillion lights. Super hot in that room as well. >> [laughter] >> That was usually Morello playing the game, man. Shout out to Morello. Oh my god. >> And he was completely off screen. Yeah. Yeah, never seen. Never seen. And yeah, and I remember chat used to complain a lot cuz they couldn't really see the TV screen this well because the lights were shining on it and >> more like, you know, TV session like talking about hobbies and >> watch along. >> [laughter] >> And then we were like, wait a minute and maybe people are interested more into seeing the game actually >> [laughter] >> than some like props in the studio. >> it out. We figured it out fast, yeah, after a little while we're like, actually this isn't working so well. Uh there's a lot of moving about all the time, so yeah, that's a pretty fun one. Benny, do you have that trailer ready by the way? All right, let's see the not to be sniffed at teaser for Mack. I hope that he has it. He didn't say yes or no. I see >> Yeah, he he was nodding to me. He was nodding to me. >> Okay, well let's check this out. This is a cool teaser trailer we did back in two in 2020. >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> I might cry. I might cry, guys. >> That was a cool one, man. We did [laughter] We did We did have some good ideas over the past 10 years, man. Yeah. Do you know Peter why it was a bulldog sniffing on a brick of soap? No. Because, you know, Mack trucks with the statue of a bulldog they have on the hood. Uh the you know, the original statue was carved carved out of a brick of soap by one of the uh I think it was employees of the Mack trucks back then or it was the founder when he he got hurt during war and he was in the hospital. That's how the statue of the pedigree was born. That's so cool. Yeah, you know how hard that was to convince that dog he wants to hop on the bed and do this stunt >> [laughter] >> That costed like 6 kilo of treats. >> [laughter] >> We were broke after that, man. We had to Please buy our game, man. That was a really really fun teaser and of course from that came the legendary Mack trucks into American Truck Simulator as well, which is so so cool. Man, this has been fun going down memory lane, I got to tell you. And of course we're not going to have time to go through Oh, it's already 7:00. Oh my god. Almost 7:00, yeah. We're not going to be able to But this is the beauty of it because we've actually got the whole month of February dedicated of the 10th anniversary We plan to do a lot of these streams. We plan to bring even one of some of the OG, you know, employees of SCS, colleagues of ours that were back then when the world was being built for American Truck Simulator. I think first of them is actually this Thursday with Mark and you, Alex, right? Yes, yeah. Nice. Patrick, I believe, right? Yep. And then at the end of February even Pavel, you know, found a free evening for us to do a stream, so Yeah, not only that we had not only have some great streams lined up taking you down memory lane and talking about all these great things that American Truck Simulator has done in its time of 10 years, but we've also got lots of giveaways that are going to be happening as well throughout the month. One's already happening on our social media channels if you're not already following there. Those are for some base game keys. So if you have a friend that wants to get trucking or you want to gift it to someone, then that's a good place to to get started. But we also thought it might be nice to end the stream with a quick giveaway here this evening. We're going to >> Oh, so you guys brought something We did, indeed. And we thought it would be good to give away some Louisiana keys. That's our latest DLC from American Truck Simulator. The latest stuff. So we've got 10 of those to give away. We've got 10 keys to give away. So real quick, if you've not participated in a giveaway on Twitch before cuz this is only happening on Twitch. Sorry, YouTube. Don't haven't figured out a way to do giveaways there yet. Um but if you're on Twitch, we're going to give you a keyword. All you have to do is just type that keyword into the chat and then if you are one of our winners, we're going to contact you via Twitch whispers, which is a DM system on Twitch. Please make sure that you have that on so we can contact you and send to you your key. But that's all you have to do is submit the keyword. And the keyword is going to be ATS10. That is the keyword. Let's go. 10 keys for Louisiana. Good luck everyone. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, it's been a lot of fun. Been a lot of fun going down memory lane a little bit. Talking about some of those those earlier times. Um and plenty more of that to come as well. Of course in the future. You're going to have to find some of those more of those photos from your phone and maybe we can see if we can find some old studio stuff. >> Yeah, that was going to be tough, man. I hope I still have some. I also need to try to find at least something >> have an old HDD drive back at home, man. And don't forget, chat >> I could have some there. Chat, if you have some old photos Bring them, yeah. No matter what time, if it was like last year or even back when the game released Yep. >> send them to us from whether it be trucking with your friends in TMP or convoys or, you know, world of trucks events or anything, we'd love to see them. I remember this. We've been playing a lot on TruckersMP with my with my friend Mhm. and we all always ended up with less money than when we than when we started [laughter] with because That's pretty normal. It was usually pretty late into the night and yeah, we always found a way to crash into each other accidentally. >> [laughter] >> For me it's like I remember when I played TruckersMP a lot, um one of the big hubs in American Truck Simulator was in Las Vegas. And in there there's like a big car park where like you can have like a good 20 or 30 trucks pull up and everyone used to just gather in there and just chat, uh especially with the introduction of the CB radio in there as well. That was pretty cool. So we used to just kind of sit there some nights and just chat the night away and then people would go off and do jobs together, which was a pretty nice little meeting point. Yeah. All right, one more minute here until our giveaway ends. This is for the Louisiana DLC, our latest released DLC for American Truck Simulator. And the keyword is ATS10. Just type that into the chat on Twitch and you'll be entered into the giveaway. Good luck to everybody. Make sure you have your Twitch whispers on as well. You'll like Louisiana. It's a beautiful state. I'd like to go there at some point. Whoa whoa whoa, careful careful. >> [laughter] >> I'll try to find more videos, man, and all photos from the old times for you guys. >> [laughter] >> ATS30, I think you might have misspelled that one. There's we we still got a little while till that one. >> It would be nice to do It would be nice to, you know, celebrate 30 years of ATS in 20 years. 30 years. That would be cool. We've definitely got a lot of road ahead, so let's hope there's many more years to come. It'll be It'll be good. And yeah, they didn't use my recording for some reason. >> Yeah, man. [laughter] But there you go. You can see the connect there in the background. >> mean I can see the chicken, chat? Come on. >> [laughter] >> There he goes. Hey. >> [laughter] >> Uh back in the day, man. That's some nice behind the scenes footage. What a way to end. >> [laughter] >> The chat, he ain't lying. I believe we're back for another stream tomorrow. Is that right for ETS2? And then >> it's going to be me and Peter. Me torturing Peter. His favorite activity. >> I [laughter] love it. And then we're back as well on Thursday for another American Truck Simulator >> and Patrick and Alex. Yep. That's it. So make sure you're following us for then. But until then, chat, have yourselves a wonderful rest of the evening. And we'll see you again soon. Bye-bye for now, everyone. See you. >> Bye.
