During openings for the trial against Lindsay Clancy, prosecutors told jurors Lindsay Clancy "deliberately and meticulously" strangled her three young children after planning the killings while her husband was out picking up takeout and medication. Clancy’s defense attorney did not dispute that Clancy killed the children but argued the case hinges on her mental state, telling jurors she was suffering from severe postpartum mental illness and urging them to focus on what was happening in her mind at the time of the tragedy.
