They became one of the most prominent acts of the acid jazz movement in the late 1980s and 1990s, known for albums like Brother Sister and their blend of funk, soul, and jazz influences. N’Dea Davenport is an American soul singer best known for her work with The Brand New Heavies, where her distinctive vocals helped define the group’s sound across several of their most successful albums and singles. A major figure in the British acid jazz scene of the 1990s, she has also enjoyed a solo career and collaborated with artists across soul, funk, jazz, and electronic music.
