GRATEFUL DEAD: THE COMPLETE DICK'S PICKS COLLECTION

"Dick's Picks" is a 36-Volume series of multi-CD sets with Live music from the Grateful Dead Tape Vault featuring 905 songs on 113 CD's. "Dick's Picks" were named after & initially organized by Dick Latvala, the Custodian of the Grateful Dead Tape Vault until his death in 1999. In 2000, the Vault & "Dick's Picks" were tasked to David Lemieux to manage (although the original series name was retained until 2005.) Generally, each volume contains a complete show (or shows), the majority of show, or a selection of music from a series of consecutive shows. Vol. 1 was released in 1993. Band member vetoes delayed the selection & release of Vol. 2 until 1995. Vol. 3 followed a year later. Beginning in 1997, 3-4 volumes were released every year. The final "Dick's Picks," Vol. 36, was released in 2005. The collection was sourced from two-track master tapes housed in the Grateful Dead Vault in California. At the time of release, modern mixing methods weren't available, & glitches & omissions in the original tapes were carried over onto the CDs. As a result, "Dick's Picks" were distributed by Grateful Dead Merchandising & not (initially) through normal outlets. The "Dick's Picks" series was followed by the "Road Trips" series (2007-2011) & "Dave's Picks" series (2012-present). Limited Edition Vinyls are still being produced as of 2025 by dead.net. --CREDIT DEADDISC.COM Vol. 1:  12/19/73 (2 CD's) Curtis Hixon Convention Center, Tampa, FL Vol. 2:  10/31/71 (1 CD) Ohio Theater, Columbus, OH Vol. 3:  5/22/77 (2 CD's) The Sportatorium, Pembroke Pines, FL Vol. 4:  2/13 & 2/14/70 (3 CD's) Fillmore East, New York, NY Vol. 5: 12/26/79 (3 CD's) Oakland Auditorium Arena, Oakland, CA Vol. 6: 10/14/83 (3 CD's) Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, CT Vol. 7: 9/9 & 9/11/74 (3 CD's) Alexandra Palace, London, England Vol. 8: 5/2/70 (3 CD's) Harpur College, Binghamton, NY Vol. 9: 9/16/90 (3 CD's) Madison Square Garden, New York, NY Vol. 10:  12/29 & 12/30/77 (3 CD's) Winterland Arena, San Francisco, CA Vol. 11:  9/27/72 (3 CD's) Stanley Theatre, Jersey City, NJ Vol. 12:  6/26 & 6/28/74 (3 CD's) Providence Civic Center, Providence, RI & The Boston Garden, Boston, MA Vol. 13: 5/6/81 (3 CD's) Nassau Coliseum, Nassau, NY Vol. 14:  11/30 & 12/2/73 (4 CD's) Boston Music Hall, Boston, MA Vol. 15:  9/3/77 (3 CD's) Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ Vol. 16: 11/8/69* (3 CD's) Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, CA (*One song from 11/7/69) Vol. 17: 9/25/91 (3 CD's) Boston Garden, Boston, MA Vol. 18:  2/3 & 2/5/78 (3 CD's) Madison, WI and Cedar Falls, IA Vol. 19: 10/19/73 (3 CD's) Fairground Arena, Oklahoma City, OK Vol. 20:  9/25 & 9/28/76 (4 CD's) Capital Centre, Landover, MD. & Onondaga County War Memorial, Syracuse, NY Vol. 21:  11/1/85 (3 CD's) Community War Memorial, Rochester, NY Vol. 22:  2/23 & 2/24/68 (2 CD's) King's Beach Bowl, Lake Tahoe, CA Vol. 23:  9/17/72 (3 CD's) Baltimore Civic Center, Baltimore, MD Vol. 24:  3/23/74 (2 CD's) Cow Palace, Daly City, CA Vol. 25:  5/10 & 5/11/78 (4 CD's) New Haven, CT & Springfield, IL Vol. 26:  4/26 & 4/27/69 (2 CD's) The Electric Theater, Chicago IL. & The Labour Temple, Minneapolis, MI Vol. 27:  12/16 & 12/17/92* (3 CD's) Oakland Coliseum Arena, Oakland, CA (*Four tracks from 12/17/92) Vol. 28:  2/26 & 28/73 (4 CD's) Lincoln, NE & Salt Lake City, UT Vol. 29: 5/19 & 21/77 (6 CD's) Fox Theatre, Atlanta, GA & Lakeland Civic Center Arena, Lakeland, FL Vol. 30:  3/25 & 3/28/72 (4 CD's) Academy of Music, New York City, NY Vol. 31:  8/4 - 8/6/74 (4 CD's) Philadelphia Civic Center, Philadelphia, PA & Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey CITY, NJ Vol. 32:  8/7/82 (2 CD's) Alpine Valley, East Troy, WI Vol. 33: 10/9 & 10/10/76 (4 CD's) Oakland Stadium, Oakland, CA Vol. 34:  11/2* & 11/5/77 (3 CD's) Community War Memorial,  Rochester, NY (*Incomplete - Seneca College Field House, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) Vol. 35:  8/6, 8/7 & 8/24/71 (4 CD's) Hollywood Paladium, CA, San Diego, CA. & Chicago, IL Vol. 36: 9/3* & 9/21/72 (4 CD's) Philadelphia, PA (* Three tracks from Boulder, CO) GRATEFUL DEAD: Jerome Garcia: Arranger, Producer, Writer, Guitar, Steel Guitar, Vocals Ronald "Pigpen" McKernon: Arranger, Producer, Keyboard, Organ, Harmonica, Vocals Robert Weir: Arranger, Producer, Vocals, Writer, Rythm Guitar Phil Lesh: Arranger, Producer, Bass Guitar, Vocals Bill Kreutzmann: Arranger, Producer, Drums Mickey Hart: Arranger, Producer, Percussion, Writer, Vocals Donna Jean Godchaux: Arranger, Producer, Writer, Vocals Keith Godchaux: Arranger, Producer, Piano Brent Mydland: Arranger, Producer, Keyboard, Writer, Vocals Tom Constantine: Arranger, Producer, Keyboard Vince Welnick: Arranger, Producer, Keyboard, Writer, Vocals Bruce Hornsby: Keyboard, Vocals Writer: Robert Hunter Writer: John Perry Barlowe Writer: Promoter: Bill Graham ℗ Grateful Dead Productions, Inc ℗ Ice Nine Productions
