‘‘Arrows vs Armour’ is back! This time we had an armoured soldier of 1450 in our sights. All of him. He was hit many, many times by our 7 warbow archers and in this film I look at the damage caused by the strikes and the implications for the man inside. But this film follows on directly from our main Arrows vs Armour 3 film, so to get the most out of this film, watch that first! Every strike is highlighted, examined and discussed so we can fully understand what happened in the arrow storm made by our host of archers. This depth of examination is particularly important because he was wearing 3 new state of art pieces of armour that we have not used before, the visored sallet (helmet), the bevor (plate neck guard) and the brigandine (flexible steel body armour). But of course we were also using an arrowhead new to us, but loved by the English; steel tipped, bladed, barbed and lethal. The brigandine is thinner and cheaper than the old style breastplates but how has it and the rest of the armour held up against the new hard steel arrows? Watch on to see every nuance and detail. Like all the films in this series, it has only been made possible by the generous funding of our backers.
