For when games are too short or too spoopy for the Scary Game Squad!
Curated by: Jesse Cox (84 videos)
With a name like Heartworm we weren't sure what to expect from this video game, but we definitely didn't expect to love it so much. Scary Game Squad is here to get REAL retro with it! Sam, crushed by the deaths of those closest to her, falls down an internet rabbit hole that promises a reunion with those she’s lost. Instead, she finds herself at a supposedly supernatural house in the mountains, hoping to find a way to make contact. Heartworm comes from a tradition of emotional and psychologically-focused narratives to compose a nostalgia-charged love letter to late 90s genre progenitors Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Dino Crisis.
