DIgSILENT PowerFactory Tutorial: Optimal Capacitor Placement – IEEE 14-Bus Distribution System | Lecture 45 In this lecture, the Distribution Network Optimization Toolbox in DIgSILENT PowerFactory is applied to determine the optimal placement and sizing of shunt capacitors on the standard IEEE 14-bus test system. Voltage deviations identified through initial load-flow studies are addressed via a techno-economic optimization that simultaneously minimizes active power losses, capacitor investment and operating costs, and voltage-band violations.
