Story Listening for French beginners

Welcome to my Story Listening playlist! 🎉 Get our free guide and begin your amazing journey with French on https://www.aliceayel.com/ Here, you'll find engaging stories designed to help you acquire and improve your French in a fun and natural way. But what exactly is Story Listening? Story Listening is a powerful language acquisition method that focuses on understanding and enjoying stories told in the target language (in this case, French!). The emphasis is on comprehension, not memorization or grammar drills. By immersing yourself in compelling narratives, you'll subconsciously absorb vocabulary, grammar structures, and pronunciation. So, how can you make the most of these stories? Here's what I recommend: Relax and Listen: Don't stress about understanding every single word. Focus on getting the overall gist of the story. Use Visuals and Context: Pay attention to any visuals I provide, as they're there to support your comprehension. Use the context of the story to guess the meaning of unfamiliar words. Listen Multiple Times: The first time, focus on understanding the main idea. On subsequent listens, try to catch more details and nuances. Narrate the story: after watching the video, try to tell the story with your own words. If you are a total French beginner, tell what you understood from the story in your native language. Enjoy the Process: Story Listening is meant to be enjoyable! By following these tips, you'll not only improve your French comprehension but also develop a deeper appreciation for the French language. Happy French acquisition! 🇫🇷

Currently Playing: Never Trust a Hungry Cat 🐱 | A Tunisian Folk Tale in French | Alice Ayel #54

Bonjour French Story Listeners, Today we travel to Tunisia for a folk tale that has been passed down for generations, l'histoire d'Ommi Sissi et le chat gourmand (the story of Ommi Sissi and the greedy cat). A poor woman finds a coin. She makes couscous. The neighbour's cat helps himself... and loses his tail. What happens next? A living story, heard and held in the mind, is worth more than a hundred grammar drills. So today, simply settle in. Let the French come to you like a warm cup of something nourishing. No forcing, no cramming, just your mind doing what it was born to do. 🫶 This is Story Listening, a natural language acquisition method developed by Dr. Beniko Mason. You don't need to understand every word. The story does the work. Trust it.
