Picture a young Vincent Price and the Crypt Keeper taking over for Martha Stewart and you've pretty much envisioned Gothic Homemaking, a show where Aurelio Voltaire shows you how to make and where to buy all of the best macabre home furnishings for your spooky lair!

To celebrate the month of October, and take a break from all of those ghastly Haul-o-ween videos I've been making, we are going to take a look behind the scenes at how we brought some of the monsters of the original Gothic Homemaking series to life! In this installment, we take a look at the special effects makeup and costuming required to bring to life a Japanese ghost, specifically a Kuchisake Onna or Slit-mouth woman. I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes glimpse!
