Ecosystem is an area in which living and nonliving things interact with each other. Examples: Starred agama lizard that lives in the desert protects itself by keeping itself cool by finding shaded area during a hot sunny day to keep its body cool. Palm leaves are covered with waxy layer to protect them from extreme hot climate. Human being protects himself from extreme hot climate by using umbrella and light clothes. Penguin Feet Adaptation of penguins to survive in cold environment: Unlike most birds, penguins cannot fly but they can stand on ice all day. • Its habitat: Penguins in Antarctica live in a polar climate that is one of the coldest places on the Earth. • Its adaptation: Its body: A penguin’s body is covered with dense feathers and a thick layer of fat to keep its body warm.
