http://bit.ly/adofree – for more Blergh, free African drumming lessons, and more In this video, Marshie makes his YouTube debut in a celebration (hopefully) of the positive results of a new audio processing path that should stop the audio issues on previous videos from happening, and as a cheap attempt to soften the hearts of those watching due to his heckin cuteness. Also, Jacob shows you the middle dun dun part for the Madini, and how to approach parts that look like they're independence exercises with two hands doing seemingly different things. That’s what happened in this week’s episode of The African Drumming Online Official Blergh

speak welcome back to the African drumming online blerg if you're not already member of African drumming a line should sign up ww African drumming online comm you don't have to put www but I want to do the dance today we're gonna move on through the dun dun parts for the Medina rhythm and in this lesson I'm going to show you the middle of dun dun part so I'm just gonna play it for you if you can pick it up then you're done so it goes like this the beats here 1 2 3 4 from the call beaded ding ding ding so the Middle's dun dun part for the Medini rhythm to break it down what's happening one way to approach it and and I think often the way people try to approach things like this is a independence exercise with one's hands doing one thing the other hand is doing the other thing the weight is sort of or the the intuitive way to approach it is work out what your left hand is doing [Music] and then work out what your right hand is doing and then just try and sort of start your left hand off and then bring the right hand in personally I think that's the hard way to do it it sort of seems intuitive but it makes it harder because you're trying to do one thing and then focus on doing another thing I think the way to approach parts like this that look like they're two things at once is to work out how to play them as one thing so the way the way I do it for something like this where it's pretty clear like the left hands only playing one type of stay on the right hands only playing one type of sound is to work out what each hand is doing at each each point during the rhythm so so this is the Bell part so the way I would approach that is I'd learn it as there's some left hand hits then there's some hits together then there's some left hand hits so that's how I'm gonna show it to you left hand there's two left hand hits so it's left left and the timing if you're hearing the pulse one two three four a murmur and 12 right so it's going good day good day good day good day good day good day good day good day good day so let's start - left hand hits and then together together four hits together gung gung gung right hand and left hand or foot off her hand right hand down left hand they're the actual hands so there's two left hand hit and then four together hits and it's one two one two so I got after you played that there's one little left hand hit and then you're back to the start so it's and then one left hand and then cycles around to the start like this something like that so that's the middle part label with you if you've got any questions let me know good luck [Music] thank you very much
