The Slayer, continuing his fight, now goes after the High Council, which results in him being defeated by a titan, and sent into Hell's Core. However, the Wretch finds the fallen Slayer and nurtures him back into full health. The Wretch states that Hell's Core is the Slayer's pain given shape, and that only a cleansed soul can leave. It also informs the Slayer that it is not the enemy of him, but the way out of Hell's core.
